it just makes it difficult because the horses don't know who owns them. they just go out and give it their all. but it's hard, for me at least, to find complete satisfaction when seeing a good horse run when you have to see the characters in the winners circle after.
at least i've seen enough of rachel to know that she's good, damned good. but i hate seeing assman get a good one. to be rewarded for the way he's handled his career-it stinks.

Ashado brought how much as a barren mare 8mil and this filly sold for 10mil I think she was cheap at 10 mil if 10mil can ever be cheap..

Success brings Success..Money follows money..Life's a big circle and every dog has his day..

She's the best filly since Ruffian, they could have held out and sold her for 3X the amount they got.

She'll now go on to win the Preakness, Belmont, Travers, Woodward, Jockey Club Gold Cup, BC Ladies Classic on Friday and finish up the year winning the BC Classic on Saturday...

i understand all that. but the way certain people achieve their success is where i have a problem. the way others give them opportunities because of their mode of operation is another.

I think to accomplish the BC double will require some help from Richard Dutrow

If you eliminate Asmussen's early season 2yo's - his training stats are pretty mediocre overall in terms of the categories in which I focus.

He's not a magic guy .... and the vast majority of his horses seem to absolutely suck on turf and synthetic race tracks. His numbers on those two surfaces are embarassing.

I realize he's been caught cheating and everything ... but I'm not a results queen when it comes to that.

I'm more suspicous of the guys with mind-boggling numbers and relatively cleaner records.

yeah, he doesn't seem to have that figured out at all-pretty interesting that someone can get results on one surface, but not another...but we're all supposed to treat the main track, dirt or not, as all being equal.

I put in an offer at 15 million, still haven't heard back,.I was thinking of giving her to Wooley for training.

Holland Hacker 05-06-2009 07:15 PM

I have two questions.

1. If the preakness fills without RA isn't she still on the outside looking in as she wasn't originally nominated to the TC?

2. Who will Borel ride?

I'm bummed as I was hoping to never have to look a Jess Jackson's Mugg again.

Apparently a whole lot of owners.
He has a lot of smaller owners win stakes
at some track.
Sometimes it seems like he has a horse in
every stakes race
across the country.

Is there a trainer with more horses?
I think he might have twice a many horses
as the next(2nd on the list) mega trainer.

It's good to hear that she is being bred to Curlin at least the chemicals will be in balance...Imagine the foal is going to be born dependant on EPO, Arm and Hammer, and Clen..

Why is Jess Jackson buying Rachel Alexandra so bad, especially if he's gonna do exactly what MOST racing fans want, to run her against males?

Well put. I don't get the outrage over this. The old connections made out :$:, she is going to race against the boys, and we get hilarious Jess Jackson quotes for the next year. What is not to like?

what outrage? the only real negative comments i saw were about the potential next trainer. everyone pretty much conceded they'd sell if given the chance.

You must have missed Steve's show.

BTW that 2nd period was brutal.

He has a better chance of immortality riding her then he does riding MTB. There is a chance that (especially if she comes back at 4) she will be reguarded as one of the great ones of all time. As opposed to staying on MTB for the Preakness, finishing up the track and then being remembered as the jockey who gave the best ride to the worst horse ever to win the derby.
Does anyone really think this horse has any type of chance of winning the Triple Crown? Obviously my vote is for him to stay with the filly.

my guess is Borel will stick with MTB and Robbie Albarado will get to ride RA if she goes
