Didn't say it was all our fault...as you say, there are wealthy and powerful folks everywhere standing in the way! My point is that society can only be changed by those with the power to change it! In this country, power comes from wealth!

Come on Timm, you aren't that naive...who does Congress answer to? And please, don't be insulting and say the voters!

You're cracking me up!! Who's fault is it that we have an ineffective government? Plenty of blame to share on both sides of the aisle. You can't just give them a free pass and put it on the Rich to fix the problems...and the mistakes!

That's the problem...both parties answer to "special interests" and the like. Of course it is up to those with power to fix problems...who else is there? You find me amusing, I find you naive.

You can find me anything you want(Groucho saying "find me a ham sandwich") but you still don't pin down a specific course of action. All the yammering abouth the evils of the rich and powerful, and nary a word of personal responsibilty incumbent on every citizen. Oh, the Humanity!!

Um, actually, right now I'd put that blame squarely on the Republican-controlled Congress who gave Bush and his cronies a free pass for the past six years. Anybody notice that the American people vote the Dems into the majority and now we're having hearings on the Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch frauds? (Not them, of course; the frauds the gov't perpetuated about Tillman's death and Lynch's "rescue.") And hearings on the Attorney General firings. And Walter Reed. So actually, I give the GOP Congress big fat raspberries for valuing their country less than they did their friendship with Bush. They're supposed to be one of the checks and balances, you know.

Of course, the media gets a big fat raspberry for blindly parroting the stuff the Bush House fed them, too. Heck of a job there, guys.

Thanks for seeing the "small picture"

Genuine Risk,
Speaking of the "media", tonight's Bill Moyer's at 9:00 on pbs should be good.
It's title..."Buying the War".
Also, for the night birds, last nights "Enron" was very interesting. Ken Lay was one of Dubya's biggest backers. And the way Shilling duped so many out of their investments and retirement pensions, well, eh, em, in the words of the great communicator, "Only in America"...G Dub's that is.

Genuine Risk,
If you didn't catch Bill Moyer's "Buying the War", I'll just say it was excellent.
It will be rebroadcast on 4-28.
Here's Tom Degan's take on it:

GR,
Another critique on Moyer's speaking up...and holding some pretty tender feet to the fire.

Imagine the "main stream media" being complicit. WWGD?? (What would Goebells do?)
