If for no other reason, I hope he takes it for Bellamy Road's sake. I don't think he could take too much more rejection....
Seriously, I think Saban will take it. His coaching style suits the college game much more than the NFL. |

what you guys don't grasp is coachs like new challenges that's why he left lsu, he got them a NC, and decided to try his hand on the top level, the NFL if he takes the Bama job, I feel that he simply got there (the NFL) and decided he liked coaching college better, the NFL can be a real grind on anyone Pitino even admits today he should have never left UK for the Celtics and Saben would probably say the same about LSU and if he's making what they are reporting at UA, why would he worry about getting another NFL gig? |
from what i heard today IF he does NOT take the Bama job, it will be out of loyalty to the dolphins owner. on the other hand he wants OUT of the nfl because he doesn't like it.
i'd LOVE to see saban in charge of the Crimson Tide and hear the rest of the college world groan. the sleeping giant WILL be awaken ! ROLL TIDE ! |

I can see him making an attempt at some Louisiana recruits and probably some Georgia ones too, but I don't think he'll be as successful at it. I'm more negative towards Saban right now because he left LSU and lied about leaving LSU... He left the Tigers on Christmas Day for heavens sake! :p To me, this just shows that Bama can't guarantee that he'll stay there regardless. He's a great coach and I believe that Bama will be a much better team because of him, but the Roll Tide will not have a repeat of the Bear Bryant years... sorry. |

BIG Bama fan here. My daughter graduated from UA in 1994. Great college experience. I'll be interested to see how this all shakes out. ROLL TIDE! |

I was born in Louisiana and lived in Baton Rouge for several years and still love the place. Have some super special friends down there. I guess I enjoyed living dangerously, because while living there, I had an "I'm A Bama Mom" sticker on my little white Civic. :D |

I love messing with these guys more than anything... one of my friends in Atlanta is a HUGE Tide fan (he graduated from UA too)... this is his "Bama Basement": ![]() |
I think Saban should keep Joe Kines on the staff to handle the halftime interviews.

you'd think the AD would have him (NLS) hook, line, and sinker after what happened with the WV coach at least if he says no we could say we shot for the fences the Boise State coach looked pretty good last night almost the perfect college bowl game excellent play, excellent sportsmanship |

Here they go again thinking they can buy their way into gridiron glory. Only difference is now the coaches will make more than the players.

ROLL TIDE!!!!

Either way, he'll be a nice fit for the Bama program and they'll definitely be better off than they were. Congrats to the Tide fans on landing a good coach... God knows you guys are paying him enough! |
My issue with this whole story is, who cares? I mean you would think Joe Torre is interviewing to manage the Red Sox or something.
Who the heck is Nick Saban and who cares who coaches the Dolphins? They are a terrible team in a place where fans care more about percentage of body fat than what their team's records are. Sorry, thats just how I feel. |

It's more of a crapshoot in CFB now than it was 10 years ago with the scholarship restrictions. 10 years ago Boise St would never have won a Jan 1 bowl game. You need to be very lucky to win a national championship. But the pressure to win in the NFL is far greater than in College. The Dolphins are a total mess with Culpepper still hurt and due $6 mil next year. And even if he's recovered, he's thrown about 8 TD passes since 2004. Miami's three quarterbacks for their final game this year were Cleo Lemon, Joey Harrington and Shane Matthews. I'm not surprised one bit he took the money and the lower stress job. |

do people really care who manages the yankees any more?
As a Yankee hater and somebody who lives in NY (not the city but still NY)....yes they do! Baseball rules in this state. Its all about the Yankee - Red Sox here. I love the rivalry but I follow just about every team very closely and watch about 7-10 games per week. |

Football is huge down here, but there are far more college football fans than NFL fans. I don't care as much about the Dolphins as I do about Saban going back to coach another SEC team.

fair enough. People here (in general, but not me) could care less about baseball. Marlins win 2 WS in 10 years and they get 2,000 people some nights. No wonder they can't get a stadium built. |
ROLL FREAKING TIDE !!!!!
the alarm clock is ringing and the Sleep Giant is stirring !!!!! |

With his moving around and flat out lies, nobody else will want him! LOL |

saban should have NO problems getting whatever player he wants. there are still plenty of guys that want the Honor of pulling on that Crimson jersey and running on the field in front of 90,000 people. |

He's not going to have an easy time of recruiting either... good old Tubby will keep him busy. Saban will be cherry picking Mississippi and most likely will attempt at stealing a few Louisiana recruits. |
ya know cajun we got burned by Franny just a couple of years back with his lying while he was striking up a deal with TA&M, who was given the worst bowl beating of any team, btw, lol, I'm not bitter, just I feel if you ain't with us, you're not agianst us, but more like good riddance, granted Saben brought a national championship to LSU before leaving, while Franny left us with a loss to auburn:(
gander I'm surprised at the media attention these coaching serches get myself, it's like there's been more talk of this than the upcoming Ohio State-Florida game...but I do agree with cajun when she says down south, college football is the most followed sport, where I'm sure it's different in the NE |
By the way, I should say that I am SCARED as a Tiger fan first and foremost. I am happy for you guys as Roll Tide fans, but I'm scared that we will lose some of our good recruits to Saban. SO, if I come across as negative, I apologize, but I'm just worried. I take football pretty seriously. :o

tubby is not winning the recruiting in the state now. he is getting some better players from outside the state. |

I was born and raised a Gator, but I love the Tigers too. I can't help it. Believe me, I get shiat for it all the time. ESPECIALLY from my own family. |
