Most likely. He was a long way from being the best player on the floor today without question.

So was everyone besides Rondo.

I thought Shaq gave them more than could be reasonably expected

Cannon Shell 05-09-2010 06:29 PM

Holy **** what the hell happened to Rondo? He is like Bob Cousy and Tiny Archibald rolled into one! He may even be the chief pallbearer at Paul Pierces' funeral.

Nice left handed one captain.....

Celts are still 2-1 against at best but it is better than last weeks lack of expectations. Series is more schizo than Tyscon on Haldol and Red Bull with Given's in the late 80's...

FTFY....

Chris Webber gave LeBron a virtual blow job last night. I thought he was gonna start crying when Kenny Smith disagreed with him.

Webber is horrible on that show. He constantly steps on the other guys talking and has nothing unique to say. He fills the chair at 2 AM. I'd rather hear Ernie bustin Charles off the tee.

Celts may not pull this off but......

They have again showed the country the difference between great talent and great teams. Cleveland is running out of chances to show the Cavs are capable of being a great team. If LeBron doesn't have 30 this half the rest of them can't beat the green team.

What I dont understand is why LeBron trys to fit in during games like this instead of simply taking over. At some point if you are going to move to the next level you have to take over. Unlike LA where Kobe can sometimes dominate the ball to the detriment of the team, Cleveland is a much better team when LeBron dominates the ball.

docicu3 05-11-2010 08:59 PM

I agree they are better with LeBron the principal guy but he realizes the Cavs are going to need more options than him. Even if LJ scores 60 somebody has to still score 35-40 somehow. And then there's the whole defensive thing..

They have to have a team concept to be successful ultimately

When LeBron has the ball the defense always looks to help his man. That creates open shots which is why Cleveland was able to hit as many 3 pointers during the reg season. Not only that but when he drives he more often than not gets the call which gets the other team in foul trouble. Not to mention that Parker and Jamison are much better playing on the move.

Defensively they are just lost. If i was the coach i would have had Shaq deck Rondo a few times when he drove to make him at least flinch.

Cannon Shell 05-11-2010 09:24 PM

This really is an embarrassment. Perhaps LeBron may now bail and become a Knick?

dalakhani 05-11-2010 09:26 PM

lebron is asked to do more than any other superstar of our era. You name me another NBA team that won a championship without at least two superstars. who is the other star on cleveland?

Either way, they win the next game in Boston.

ateamstupid 05-11-2010 09:33 PM

LOL.

Coach Pants 05-11-2010 09:34 PM

He'll never win a title. Keep shooting threes, LeBron. You're a god-damned second coming of Rex Chapman. Seriously. You can do anything.

That is true but they arent even competing and LBJ has to take the blame. He has sleepwalked through this game like his kid was kidnapped and the only way the kidnappers werent going to kill him is if he threw this game. His passiveness is not a quality that this particular team can survive. The fact is that they feed off of him and you can blast brown all you want but he really has his hands tied. At some point you have to demand the ball and force things. Just meekly accepting another beating is an embarassment.

That being said Boston has played unusually well. They deserve a lot of credit too.

At some point you have to give gang green a little credit for playing better than you thought they were capable of.

FTFY

But nothing is over here.....3 is not 4. The Celts still have the toughest challenge yet ahead of them

Cannon Shell 05-11-2010 09:43 PM

If Brown had any balls or sense he would have sat the starters for the last 10 minutes of the game and let them watch. If they are embarrassed they should be. he is gonna get sacked regardless. might as well go out with a little dignity.

horseofcourse 05-11-2010 10:38 PM

Ahhh, the ultimate and complete joy it is to be a Cleveland fan!! Somewhere Jobu is laughing his ass off. And at this time, Austin Kearns is the best professional athlete in the city. It is a horror show.

horseofcourse 05-11-2010 10:41 PM

deep down I should be thankful. I think an Orlando series would have been 100 times uglier than the Spurs finals series in 2007. They would have beaten tha Cavs worse than they beat the Hawks.

horseofcourse 05-11-2010 10:46 PM

7 minutes into the 4th quarter, Big Baby Davis had outscored the entire Cavs team. Nothing more need be said. But I will. To be massacred not once, but twice on your home floor is a disgrace of biblical proportions. As much as it pains me, Coach Pants appears to be dead on in his LeBron analysis. going into the game, it would have appeared to most people to be a big game. LeBron was a complete no-show in all aspects of the game.

Coach Pants 05-11-2010 11:07 PM

LeBron is a monster. It's really not his fault. He's been coddled for over half his life. I knew the kid was a massive douche when this black Jesus atrocity was released...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvnaVoPbUI8

King James. He needs to get over himself. He's a moron with athletic ability.

At least Kobe Bryant has some sense. Jordan has some sense. Magic has...HIV...but he had Kareem and Worthy and at the very least realized his limitations.

docicu3 05-11-2010 11:42 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY..........

horseofcourse 05-12-2010 12:29 AM

LeBron: "I spoil a lot of people with my play. When you have 3 bad games in a 7-year career, it is easy to point that out."

I officially quit. Crap LeBron, I'm almost but not quite a witness and even I can count 5 bad games in two Boston playoff series' alone in the last 3 years in just 12 games. You're barely over ,500 in just those two series'.

Probably my favorite quote about LeBron ever.

And major respect to you HOC. Trust me, it's not LeBron's ability that we hate, it's this kinda bullshit. I'm not even trying to pile on, the Celts will probably choke like they did in Game 3.

Coach Pants 05-12-2010 12:31 AM

Michael Jordan would never say some lame s.hit like that.

He just doesn't have it in him. Paper Tiger.

ateamstupid 05-12-2010 12:51 AM

I think Dwight Howard's pretty douchey as well.

horseofcourse 05-12-2010 01:13 AM

LeBron: "I put a lot of pressure on myself to go out be great and the best player on the court. When I'm not, I feel bad for myself."

LeBron's playing 13 dimensional chess with himself.

horseofcourse 05-12-2010 07:32 AM

So can we re-title this the Dan Shaughnessy redemption thread? Bernie Kosar was passed out drunk somewhere by halftime. LeBron simply felt it. That's how great his powers are.

ateamstupid 05-12-2010 03:39 PM

Game 6 is going to be one hell of a dramatic game. Both sides have enormous pressure on them. The Celtics, with this being the Big 3's last decent shot at a title, with the choke against Orlando last year fresh in memory, and LeBron and the Cavs, with the prospect of being labeled playoff chokers and the Mavs of the East, and of course the free agency question. Should be a wild night.

It will be interesting. Boston is a better road team than home team and they have played better in all 3 road games than their two home games in the series which makes no sense. But they won more road games than home in the regular season too. Even in their win at home they didn't perform all that well outside rondo, Cleveland just out-badded them. It's hard for me to have too much confidence though in a team that lost two consecutive home playoff games by 50 points. Something very ugly appears to be going on with them.

I can't remember being this excited for a basketball game in the past, and this includes the '08 Finals. Makes little sense, I know.

dalakhani 05-13-2010 06:38 PM

Does lebron come through?

I think he does. I think he does something superhuman tonight and the cavs bring it back home for game seven.

Regardless, before you throw tomatoes at me, I was totally dead wrong about this series. Boston is much better than I thought they would be.

Serious matchup problems. If Cleveland goes with starters, they can't defend the celtics when they spread the court. When they go small, they can't score and lebron has to do everything.

I know he takes a lot of heat but Doc did a pretty darn good job this series. Or maybe he just did an Okay job and Brown is just that bad.
