Sharp move by Mike Smith to gun for the lead. That horse had never shown that kind of speed in his stakes races (but did in some of his others). The race was sort of indecipherable because of the pace scenario. Didn't have faith that Always Dreaming would have the mustard despite the speed advantage.

On the other hand, Rosario was nuts with Good Samaritan nearly 20 lengths of the pace. There was no pace on paper, why would he stay so far back? The sad part is, the horse came rolling when finally asked which to me suggests that he has gears and is not reliant on a pace meltdown. Perhaps if he had Gunnevera's or maybe even Irap's trip he could have made a dent.

I agree with all of this. My father boxed 3,5 and we both feel Rosario gave the 5 way to much to do.

Craig tweeted something along the lines of a fast overall race based on the final time. None taken at all. They are super sharp at TF.

I believe Smith cost Songbird the win by not knowing where FU was, and when talking with Donna Brothers, he gave Rosario credit for keeping FU out wide.

If you look at her races, the slower the pace, the better she runs.

That SHOULD indicate something to you.

The race got a 121 for the winner on Tus, I would imagine its the same figure or slightly better for Songbird.

Its a competitive figure in any race that will be run this year.

You have to wonder though, with real pace, and not sure when were going to see that, if Forever Unbridled does move up even more so. Tough to say, she may enjoy races that are more run like turf events.
