Can you give me the other fillies besides RA and Zenyatta who have tried to run against older horses in the marquee races on dirt/syn of the past decade or so? Races like the Woodward, JCGC, SA Derby, Hol GC, PC, Clark, Foster, Pim Special, and BC Classic?

I came up with like two. Turf yes its done more often, especially the mile distance.

I'm going with Azeri (Met Mile, Breeder's Cup Classic) and Island Fashion (Big Cap) and of course Devil May Care

lucky you! (it's best to keep it that way also)

just keep working on it.. you'll get there.

Didn't Life is Sweet try one of those races? St. Trinians?

Can you give me the other 17-for-17 bestest mares of all-time? We're led to believe that her success is unprecedented. If that's so, her challenges should be as well.

Dahoss does not put her in that group, at least I think thats what he has said.

No filly can consistently run with older colts and win.......you can take that to the bank. Once, twice maybe, but not 3-4 times a year, IMO. It will break them.

I think you just changed your argument. Regardless, it happens in Europe all the time. Heck, St. Trinians just tried the boys this spring. Life is Sweet did it last year. Were those restricted races, or are you just ignoring the posts that have been made since you posited this question that completely refute your argument?

Seriously?

Azeri did it. But who cares how many have tried?

I don't think even you put her in that group. She's ducked too many races.

Yeah? What if the older colts suck? Does that matter? Or do their genitals supersede their ability?

Yep, and Azeri did great in those races.

No one disputes Azeri is not an all time great.

Again, what does how Azeri finished in the races have anything to do with Zenyatta ducking them? Oh I get it. You are afraid she'll lose.

Island Fashion was 2nd in the Santa Antia Handicap the first time she ran in it.

Her poor races in the Pacific Classic and Big Cap came when she was off form later on in her career.

That is why the Classic will be more interesting than usual, it's on your preferred surface, there is no excuse for other horses to duck it this time around. We will find out if she does win or lose then. I understand why everyone wants to see her tested, the difference with me is I don't care whether it's in Aug or Nov. As long as she does, better then, then never, or to have her run in the Woodward for instance and then have an excuse to duck out the rest of the year.

She ran an 8 race campaign last year at 7 different tracks against all kinds of company. I wouldn't exactly call not going to a race on a thrid surface ducking out on the rest of the year.
