Steve, are you at liberty to discuss said backup plan?

Dean's Kitten or Interactif or Aikenite are the only options I can think of.

John,

#1. RULE started a length behind MISSION IMPAZIBLE and hit the wire less than a neck behind him. Mission outworked Rule however because Rule was working at getting to Mission while Mission was simply within himself and moving without any urging from his rider.

#2. MISSION IMPAZIBLE won the Louisiana Derby which was lengthened to 9f as part of its' new spot on the Derby Trail.

Mission Imazible looks to be coming into the week the best of the Pletcher group outside of the filly.

TAP Group

I understood that Super Saver was also coming in pretty strong. How does Mission Impazible compare to him?

I just watched the Mission Impazable and Rule work from Saturday. I thought Mission's work was lights out and Rule absolutely sucked. Rule was being asked the whole time to keep up with Mission and simply couldn't, while Mission was not being asked at all. When both riders let up, Rule shut it down completely and Mission galloped out strong.

I wasn't anywhere near Mission before watching that, but he might be an include for me now

Take another look at his Louisiana Derby. I promise you will no longer be losing money on him.

That might have been the worst Derby prep ever.

Mission Impazible got a perfect trip last out and, apparently, this is the only way he can win, since he really hasn't shown he can run any other way (at least in his past 3 races).

Rule, on the other hand, is a 'fighter'.

I haven't seen the workout; I don't know how fit Rule is; and, Rule will get the worse of it, of the two, in terms of setup in the Derby. I wouldn't bet Rule but I would certainly bet him before a horse that, basically, needs to get significantly lucky to hit the board.

LOL I'm sorry, but I just saw your avatar - I love it!

The amazing thing about Mission Impazible is that he never accelerated. He merely won by going less slowly than the others in the stretch. It was really a decidedly mediocre race to be kind.

I like Rule. I agree with you, it's hard to believe he could win this race, but he's tough.

Thought I read in an earlier post that Rule was on the fence. Did I read it right?

the filly (if she gets the right post) will be the pletcher horse to bet, rule will not hit the board

I had word that Pletcher was really high on Mission Impazable even before the scratch of E. Could be the one to watch. And as soon as Eskenderya scratched, they took Rajiv off M I and put Johnny up.

Sorry you are right, he just told me if the filly goes Friday then Johnny takes MI in the Derby, but if she goes in Derby then JV is up.
