Yeah, he could have run in a 333 K race and picked up the same money for a win

i never have been a big curlin fan... i tryed hard to beat him world cup day... but i am totally sold, and a full campaign this year will put him close to the top of all time greats, because no one over here is beating him... they really should run in the arlington million or the arc, because curlin is a freak, and a huge turf win would only rate him higher all time.... did he even ask him for run today ? i saw maybe one crack of the whip, easy victory... and he can only get stronger off of this

Danzig 06-14-2008 09:02 PM

near the top old time? i doubt it.

turf horses run on dirt to try to boost their fee, not the other way 'round.

who not ? i think there is some doubt about if he can even run in ny, so if the whitney and woodward are out, why not the arlington million ? as for all time great... i did say with a full campaign this year, when i say that i mean, todays effort, maybe 3 more races, 1 of the 3 has to be either the ARC or BCC! if he were to do that, he is a all time great legend like myself and chuck simon

welll, if that's as high as you're setting the bar, i'd say he's already there.

Did you see the 1973 Man O'War?

jcs11204 06-14-2008 09:52 PM

time to be serious....
what are curlins plans, i asked this last week ? is the arc in the plans, i think i read, they wont go to the BCC because of the surface, so why not the Arc ?

Has anyone heard anything from the loudmouths over at IEAH? Its pretty obvious who walks softly and carries the big stick. Hopefully Big Brown makes it into a starting gate with Curlin, he may learn something

even if big brown runs again... he will never ever EVER EVER EVER EVer EVER EVER EVER, run against curlin....

IEAH WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO THE POOR HORSE. i doubt they even think big brown could run with curlin

I'd imagine a War Emblem-type end to his career. First, a paid public workout doubling as a "return to glory" in cahoots with some publicity-hungry track (Suffolk, Arlington, Monmouth?) in a preconceived setup of a race ala the '02 Haskell followed by a definitive failure to achieve "greatness" when getting bounced around and crushed in the BC Classic after finally facing a quality-laden field.

The icing on the cake will be if his owners' narcissistic greed get the better of them after a BC loss and, desperate to get a win versus his elders, further humiliate him in the Cigar Mile, the way Coronado's Quest's connections (ie the evil Claiborne Farm junta) exposed his rather modest capabilities (not that he couldn't have improved from 3 to 4) in the final 3 races of his career.

Or he'll just never run again...

I cant wait to see what those buffoons do

Right. Getting to watch a previous year's 3-yr-old standout is an all-too-rare treat.

The Foster was posted on YouTube by 4 different people. Here's one:

Asmussen was quoted saying he wants Curlin's next start to be on turf, either The Man O War, Arlington, or Woodbine...essentially to see if the target of the PRIX DE'LARC DE TRIOMPHE is a feasible one.

All of you ninnies can die in a fire. Until the season is over I stand by what I say.

Well, here's hoping he takes to the turf as well as the 1973 winner of the Man O' War did. :) There's never been an American winner of the Arc, has there?

I just want someone to explain to me from a racing fans perspective how this race can be beneficial to Einstein's racing campaign from this day forward? Will this witch hunt end when he throws in a clunker in the Arlington Million?

ateamstupid 06-15-2008 10:57 AM

Why's he going to run badly in the Million? Because of that super taxing suck-up second yesterday?
