Because the track is obviously about 3 seconds faster than a normal track and it is totally different surface.

A "converyor belt" condition on a race track is when there is a speed favoring bias. That was not the case today....

Your analogy makes no sense.

Are you sure it was 3 seconds faster? What is a normal track nowadays anyway??

The conveyor belt just happened to be in the 5 path

Was it a normal track earlier this year when Bob Black Jack set the 6f record?

TheSpyder 10-25-2008 08:32 PM

Thanks as I don't have days like these often.

Had a pick 3: 1 (Midnight Luke) x 2 (Conduit/Eagle Mountain) x all, so watched the Classic knowing I won no matter what happened and was happy with Ravins Pass.

No that is a joke too. If you want to believe that the tracks at Santa Anita are normal or have any relation to what has been run over for the last 100 or so years fine. I am not a synthetic track hater either but thinking that any track or stakes records set at Santa Anita this year has much validity is silly.

John Murtagh=Jamie Spencer revisited

I don't know what it is but I thought this guy was a brillant rider, after this weekend its apparent that he might of cost alot of Coolmore horses a win. I don't know what the hell this was thinking on his rides today. They would of been better off having one of the Hefferman brothers ride first call. I hammered all of their runners and I am the one who got hammered.

It's a third surface. How can it be compared to past SA records?

good question.

my big question was how do these graded races they've been having retain their status? one requirement of keeping their status is that the conditions be the same from year to year, that obviously is no longer the case on tracks with AWT surfaces.

Worrying about track records or final times, is silly IMO.

So when a track decides to re-installed its turf/sod, which numerous tracks have done over the years, should they lose their Graded status as well?

Seattleallstar 10-25-2008 09:05 PM

Curlin would get his ass handed to him by Zarkava just like Rags bitched slapped him in Belmont
