Good luck to Black Mascara and to Sultry Assassin in their respective races today! :)

(... and, of course, to El Chico @Phar Lap).

edit - Ed here... incase you haven't seen it. Habibi was 4th.

Thanks for that - I completely missed that race.

Much quieter day at Ellerslie today but the racing has been so good! Black Mascara, O'Rachael (so brave), He's An Ace and Duchess Kate.

my miss storm cat 12-28-2015 10:12 AM

I am amazed Trudy got Black Mascara past Cartell! Even knowing the outcome... at the last possible second it looked impossible. Nice win!

The noms for New Year's Day at Ellerslie just made my heart skip a beat. Amazing.

... and every field was more spectacular than the previous one but once I got to the Railway... geez that is an epic field~ Exciting stuff. Cannot imagine being there!!!

VERY nice! He's An Ace and Duchess Kate too. :)

Odds for Friday: http://www.theinformant.co.nz/racing...rslie-features

I probably agree with most of the favourites, but there are some surprisingly big odds too!

Whoa no kidding... I am liking those odds on Celebrity MIss in the City of Auckland Cup, considering Silverdale in the Rich Hill Mile (although I am rooting for Thee Auld Floozie) and especially In Style, my boy Tomorrowland and the one I think might just take it and who I was planning on playing, Barbaric, in the Railway. THAT is insanity.

Exciting stuff. I sure hope we can wager on it here unlike the Boxing Day card (I guess since it was Christmas here they thought only real degenerates would be interested). :o :D

I was just about to ask you for these dates... :D Hoping she goes out a winner.

Poor Amarula... was sorry to read about his setback.

my miss storm cat 12-31-2015 02:36 PM

Couple of very small bets and that's that...

Win on Sultan of Swing, Celebrity Miss, Tavy and Mary Quant but oh what to do with Tomorrowland, In Style and Barbaric? Guess I will box them and figure out which to do a small win on and leave it at that.

Happy New Year Ed! Have a great time at Ellerslie and safe home, good horses!

Happy New Year to you too!

Sadly the beautiful weather of the last two weeks is gone and it's very wet and windy this morning. :(

Luckily all of your picks will handle the wet track.

_ed_ 12-31-2015 05:57 PM

Scary to see a horse slip in the first race, but apparently it wasn't because of the track conditions.

_ed_ 12-31-2015 07:07 PM

Manolo Blahniq! Sensational.

_ed_ 12-31-2015 08:44 PM

Wow, Rangipo, you are a lot better than I thought.

_ed_ 12-31-2015 09:01 PM

That was very, very special from Sofia Rosa.

_ed_ 12-31-2015 10:17 PM

Hoof!

_ed_ 12-31-2015 10:46 PM

So, so thrilled for Ryan Mark and his people. They're all so lovely and really deserve it. :)

_ed_ 12-31-2015 11:21 PM

Just amazing racing today. It's a shame about the weather, but the best horses have been winning anyway! When you look back at the results in future, you won't even remember how wet it was.

Just watched ALL the replays...absolutely scintillating performances. To hell with my stupid bets I couldn't care less... what an amazing day of races!!!!! Cheers to all the truly fine, outstanding and deserving winners.

Ryan Mark... that was so unexpected to me.... haha brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :tro: :tro:

_ed_ 01-01-2016 05:01 PM

He was brilliant. But I think Sofia Rosa was my favourite win of the day. How on earth did she do that?

edit - Nice to see Vespa (and Recite!) in the noms for the Telegraph...

_ed_ 01-03-2016 02:52 PM

Let's try that again...

my miss storm cat 01-03-2016 06:04 PM

Oh I wanna see Hasselhoof and VSB at Ruakaka tomorrow! Lucky people... wish I could be there!

my miss storm cat 01-05-2016 09:40 AM

Nice to wake up to your articles on both Mongolian Khan and In Style. :)

_ed_ 01-05-2016 04:15 PM

This weekend is kind of an anticlimax after those big days at Ellerslie! Just one minor stakes race at Awapuni. But the Ellerslie fields are still interesting, especially the 2yo and 3yo races, so it should be a good day.

_ed_ 01-08-2016 05:49 PM

Welcome back, Pondarosa Miss. :)

Oh good, I'm glad. It seems a bit early today (tomorrow)... no?

Oh Thorn Pass! Nice news. :) I will have to check back later on tonight.

Good luck to Nashville in the Marton Cup @ Awapuni. I think Madonna Mia wins but gotta root for him. :)

If you're at Ellerslie have fun!

my miss storm cat 01-09-2016 09:39 AM

It's Jimmy Mac's world! We're all just livin in it. :D

LOVED the hoping for 3rd, 4th, 5th line in your piece by the way... great stuff. :)

_ed_ 01-15-2016 10:20 PM

Some unexpected results in the big races down at Trentham today! But very happy for all the winning connections.

Mabeel and Dukedom were hugely impressive.

my miss storm cat 01-16-2016 10:41 AM

Have not yet watched replays but terribly happy to see Nashville, Thee Auld Floozie and Sultan of Swing all won. :) Looking forward to watching both Mabeel and Dukedom...

_ed_ 01-18-2016 10:31 PM

I really miss having the likes of Pinzaara to follow and enjoy, so I wasn't able to resist this opportunity:
http://www.adrianclark.co.nz/index.a...eID=2145905216

Only a 1% share, but I'm still very excited and can't wait to see them run.

Oh that is AWESOME ed!!!!! Very excited for you and cannot wait for the updates! :)

_ed_ 01-20-2016 01:33 PM

Fingers crossed. :)

Meanwhile, amazing fields for Trentham and Ellerslie this weekend.

_ed_ 01-21-2016 08:04 PM

I know there are some lovely horses in the Thorndon field, but I can't believe Addictive Habit is only the sixth favourite.
http://www.theinformant.co.nz/racing...ar-in-Thorndon

my miss storm cat 01-22-2016 10:57 AM

Very much liked your piece and yeah they are wonderful fields.

Good luck to my beautiful Soriano (although I do think Kawi looks really strong here).

(...oh yeah and to Blood Brotha, Nashville and Jimmy in their race). :)

You have got to be going to Ellerslie on Sunday, correct? You know I always prefer the older kids but whoa... those are seriously exciting fields with so many superstars-to-be it is dizzying!

edit - Aaaaghhhh forgot to mention this... Giant Turtle was second to last in his last race and McQueen was 2nd.

http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/info/m...20160117/ST/05

GOd send them both home already... this isn't working out. :(

_ed_ 01-22-2016 07:37 PM

Yep, I'll be there. Great fields and I can't wait.

Poor Giant Turtle. :(

Untamed Diamond! What a good girl.

_ed_ 01-22-2016 09:31 PM

Kawi is just sensational.

_ed_ 01-22-2016 09:42 PM

Libetto at 108-1!
