Downthestretch55 07-22-2006 11:47 AM

Missed the humor cause I thought I insulted you...oh well.
Two things I like dry:
1) The track
2) Underwear

Make that 3...martinis

Danzig 07-22-2006 11:56 AM

Unless someone is already our personal friend ... we never know who we're dealing with on these forums ... except by the words they bang out on their keyboards.

Anne has the type of historical knowledge which might make her an interesting person to communicate with ... but after the interactions I've seen her have with myself and others ... I have some doubts about her character.

I just want to see if my doubts about her are valid or misplaced. Most of the posters here are very straightforward ... and you know where you stand with them ... like 'em or not. I want to like Anne ... but she's been making that difficult.

Pedigree Anne ... or Pettifogger Anne ... which one is it?

"I have some doubts about her character." __ Bold Baffoon

Ain't any doubt about his. My guess is that his judgements will come right back at him, and deservedly so.

lol, think it's safe to be in the same paddock ? :D

Pedigree Ann 07-22-2006 02:59 PM

My dear Mister BB, it seems you can tolerate no opinion that diverges from your own, so I will cease to respond on this thread. Just one hint - snide remarks are not an effective way to elicit contrition for mistaken impressions. If you wish gracious responses, may I humbly suggest that you exhibit a bit of that quality in your messages?

LOL! Sumitas.
It isn't in the paddock, nor the breeding shed where it counts.
Nor is it at a window or an auction ring.
It's only found on that big oval called the track.
Nothing's safe there, absolutely nothing.
You take your chances, then you get to prove it.

... can't we get back to the point in the thread where men were reporting what happened when they called their wives/girlfriends "broodmares?" It was really funny...

...and interesting, isn't it, that "stud" is a compliment but "broodmare" is not...

My uncle has a sign that says "If a man has the sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred she will never turn into an old nag." Women, what would the corresponding advice to wives be? Something about not gelding him, I'm sure, but I can't think of how to phrase it. Thoughts? (Men can suggest, too. Though I don't think I'm going to agree with any that say what he needs is a band of mares...)

LOL!!!
Just throw a blanket over him when it's over and pat him on the neck...
then say, "That was good! I thought you finished early."

This isn't a matter of opinion ... the fact is ... you misread my post ... then got your own facts wrong. You haven't even addressed the matter of Bull Dog vs. Sir Gallahad from 1945-1955 ... even though your other posts are always overblown with minutiae.

No problem though ... you'd rather be truculent than gracious ... even when you know you're wrong ...

... at least you've made it clear to me who you are. I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks.

And also you have made clear who you are.

Or maybe "To keep a husband interested and attentive to her commands a woman must maintain soft voice and hands and a good seat." Tee hee.

Actually, I don't like that one. I'll keep thinking.
