Can't we take up a collection and ship someone in and kick her ass?

You and Chuck could probably put on a horse suit and beat her.
The only thing is, were either of you born in New Mexico?

So let me get this straight.....

Some people complain about early retirements. She's 5 anyway...

Some complain that connections don't actually race their horses enough...

She's won how many races now?

Good for racing? Check. Nice human interest angle... local girl makes good. New fans have to come from somewhere.

On the flipside she's somehow earned the wrath of some people (?).

Yeah that makes a whole lotta sense.

Maybe it's me... maybe I'm crazy.

And some complain when horses duck competition, and that's exactly what is going on here. Hasn't she run over a 90 Beyer before? Why not take a shot in open company?

Gee cuz winning every race just isnt good enough, lets take a shot at open company get trounced and make less money:zz: . IF it aint broke dont fix it.

Winning means nothing if it is against nothing. If USC dropped out of the P10 and exclusively scheduled 12 D3 opponents each year would anyone be impressed if they set the record for most consecutive wins and wouldn't there be a backlash against them for playing no one?

Bad example. USC would still find a way to blow one game a year against one of those D3 opponents.

Good point. So I guess Pepper's Pride is at least better than USC.

That makes really no sense at all to compare a horse race which runs for a purse and a football game that doesnt. The horse isnt playing towards a national championship.

Let me use Lucky Island for example. WAS a great horse until he stumbled out of the gate 2 back at Saratoga and learned how to lose. Look at the horses last race, ran up the track again. Once a horse finally loses a race and sees nothing changes they dont have the will to win anymore. Why risk getting the horse beat???

Im almost 1000% posititive, lets call it 999% that the connections could care less if you are "impressed" or not with how many races they win in a row and how they do it. Im sure all they care about is keeping the horse sound and winning everytime they race.

We may have the most flagrant abuse of the word "great" of all time.

I don't presume to know why people make the choices they do... isn't there a chance that this is just good enough? That her connections are comfortable with this?

I can understand questioning their choices but NOT the disdain...

If thats all you can come back with on top of your completely ignorant postings lets try a really good sprinter. Horse will never be the same again. But according to you instead of maybe stepping the horse down to get his act back together he should go right to the breeders cup sprint because hey if he aint beating the best he aint beating anyone right???

I couldn't care less what her connections are comfortable with. What I do care about is people placing any importance on this feat and possibly even considering that it should count as the record for most consecutive wins. That is where the disdain comes in.

He won a G3 and a G2 and got beat back to back races when moving to G1 company. You have to be kidding.

C'mon Sniper... you're better than that. You're a very sharp guy and I've learned a lot from you.

In terms of historical perspective no one is gonna remember her as more than a sidebar..... no one is saying she's a great.

Why is it so hard to accept her record for what it is?
