and it is big time cherry picking when you hang on three games and just plain leave out the fact that Lebron was the closer on the Miami Heat team when they crushed the Celtics and Bulls. You're like a Christian, just believe what you want to believe.

Antitrust32 06-07-2011 09:51 AM

and somehow Team basketball is shying away in the clutch? geez louis, thank god you're not a coach.

Don't dispute what people are saying, just move the goalposts to an arguement that suits your agenda and then talk about how many basketball games you've watched. Then list "facts" that have nothing to do with the discussion.

How is Lebron's dancing?

When they need it, it's Wade taking it. When they went away from Wade in game 2, they collapsed. Coincidence?

Cherry picking is what you are doing. You're not addressing what I am actually saying because you can't.

Mercy rule.

^ so very clever

Antitrust32 06-07-2011 12:50 PM

Listen, I dont care who is the best in the world. LeBron is one of the best, if not the best in the world. You guys are so sure he isnt the best player in the world.. well who would you want on your team over him? The guy does it all. He's a top 3 defender and has a top 3 offensive game in the whole league. He is very clutch and takes games over. I would bet you that if there was a draft for any player in the league, at least 25 GM's would pick LeBron first.

horseofcourse 06-07-2011 12:59 PM

Wade did not close game 3, Bosh did. Quit immortalizing what Wade did that game. He was unable to make the shot after the Mavericks finally tied it. Bosh did. Wade played fine the first 10 minutes of the 4th but come closing time he had to rely on Chris Bosh. Guy can't close at all. Why will no one address the complete wimpiness of Jordan twice being unable to close games in the finals and relying on Kerr and Paxson?

somerfrost 06-07-2011 01:14 PM

The five best players in the NBA are James, Bryant, Wade, Dirk and Durrant. The top four can be ranked in any order (James, DWade, Dirk and Bryant)...it's silly to say any of these top four can't close. On the Heat, they also have a top 15 player in Bosh...saying this guy or that guy can't close and has to rely on Bosh is missing the point that Bosh is what he is...a top NBA player. What makes the Heat so scary is that they will have 3 closers for a long long time.

I'm not even a Miami Heat fan, but I dont hate LeBron like you an others do. I just see it for what it is. and check out the 2010-2011 stats I posted, Lebron is the closer for the Heat.

You know I love you, but you need some help with reading comprehension. I never said you were a Zenyatta fan. I compared the situations, where anyone who wouldn't annoint her as Best Evah were called haters. That is what you're doing here. I'm a hater and I hate Lebron because I don't think he's the bestest evah? That's a strong arguement

I don't hate Lebron. I just don't think he's the best player on his team, therefore IMO he isn't the best player in the world.

You keep putting words in my mouth in an effort to "win" but it isn't working. Defense and passing are huge. I'm not saying it isn't. Wade is pretty good at both also.

Sorry if I don't buy into stats that have Dirk 8th best clutch player in the league. I prefer watching games. No one watching games could possibly agree Dirk is 8th.

Antitrust32 06-07-2011 04:01 PM

who do you think would be the first player taken if there was a draft of all league players?

and the stats where Dirk ranks 8th, I'd say the top 25 or 30 players on that list are very clutch. That stat is just adding up all the points in "clutch situations". So if Dirk is averaging 40 plus points in clutch situations per 48 minutes, its still pretty damn good and very clutch. The stat basically shows that LeBron has been there with more points in crunch time than Wade has this year, eventhough Wade is still a top player in the league during the final 5 minutes when there is 5 points or less seperating the teams. Though I still feel that clutch defense is as important as clutch offense.

Probably Lebron. You still aren't addressing my point, but at least you didn't call me a hater.

Now I have a question for you. If they had an anonymous survey of NBA players and coaches and one player had to take the last shot with time winding down, where do you think Lebron would finish if it were between him, Kobe, Wade and Dirk?

In regards to the stats, with Lebron "closing out" games during the regular season do you think it's ironic that is when they had so many issues. The losing streaks, players crying after games....all while Lebron was "closing out" those games.

Kobe hands down would be the pick. I'd personally pick Lebron 2nd. Though I would have no problem with the ball in Dirk or Wade's hands.

and the 3rd paragraph, every season has ups and downs, so I dont find anything ironic. Especially when this is the first season the three have played together, and they have a weak bench. They still won enough games to be the #2 seed.

Coach Pants 06-07-2011 04:29 PM

Kobe
Wade
Toss up between Dirk and LeBron for 3rd.

That's being fair. Not a hater just don't feel he deserves the accolades. It's excessive and borderline hero worship.

This is the first game after the famous all star "freeze out" during Jordan's second year. I think sometimes we forget how incredible MJ was.

I give Lebron, Magic, kobe, etc their respect but I don't know how anyone in their right mind could question whether or not MJ was the best of all time. This is just his second year and its against one of the better defensive teams in the league at the time. This is before he learned how to shoot:rolleyes:

Coach Pants 06-07-2011 05:19 PM

Jordan-Pippin-Rodman Bulls would destroy the Heat. Jordan would make LeBron cry.

Jordan-Pippen-Horace bulls would as well. Jordan would have locked down wade, Pippen would have locked down lebron and Horace would have taken care of Bosh.

And you're not.

Basketball is too busy looking at itself in the mirror.
