You know, him, robinson, Bowden, Bryant, and of course Saban, Meyer, all in the debate...

How many championships do you need?

I'd like to see him in a real debate, like presidential style with other football coaches. THAT, would be very interesting.

Miles versus Pop Warner. Who wins?

We would all win.

I'm way too stupid for the nuances on these boards. At some point in his life Paterno was a good college football coach who actually loves the university he has coached at for 60 years. I'll leave it at that.

thanks to les and co for another great season. six years, four 11 win seasons. 5/1 in bowl games. and for those who think big deal.....in all their years before les, two seasons with 11 wins.
i hope he stays. can't blame him if he goes after all the ingrates popping off this year.

Miles has had the most number of embarassing wins of any coach I know. Let us take the embarassment out of what Les does, and I would be content, win or lose, with what the Tiger football team accomplishes.

Danzig 01-09-2011 05:09 PM

why would you be embarrassed about your team winning 11 times, the fourth time in six years that's been accomplished? it doesn't have to be pretty. all that matters is the win. i'll take a season like this again. i'd rather an ugly win than a loss any day. unless of course they start giving you something extra for style.

dagolfer33 01-11-2011 10:33 AM

It's getting very interesting down here today. I wonder why, Danzig, LSU would be willing to waive Miles' buyout clause. Hmmmm???????? They have someone real good waiting in the wings. Del Rio, Gruden??????

slotdirt 01-11-2011 10:48 AM

Del Rio is "real" good. I've watched Jacksonville over the years, and I can't imagine that is what most folks would consider "good."

It doesn't matter.... A reliable source has just said what I feared all along.... he isn't leaving.

Danzig 01-11-2011 09:34 PM

the news that he's staying made my day!

oh, and just because dagolfer....

Best Winning Percentage Rank Name Pct.
1 Les Miles .785
2t Bill Arnsparger .750
2t Nick Saban .750
4 Biff Jones .741
5 Charles McClendon .692

yeah, we could do better...

Oh fiddlesticks......well, I guess I'm going to have to drop the "I dont like Miles" bit until he does something peculiar again this year.....It will happen. However, I do believe we have some much better QBs heading our way, and maybe we can, albeit with all the wins we have, dig ourselves out of that 92nd offensive ranking we had this year. (107th in passing)

It is hard to believe that Miles chose to stay at LSU instead of going to Michigan.

I have to give Miles credit for being a top recruiter and for getting his players to respond to him. Unfortunately, it often looks like LSU wins because of raw talent and risk taking and not because of superior coaching or game management.

Hopefully the JUCO QB turns out to be a good one, and Miles keeps a close eye on him.

Danzig 01-12-2011 06:06 AM

there's already talk, with us getting mettenburg (sp?), that lsu is a top five team for next year. our offensive miscues were the difference in our two losses this year. the team is relieved he's staying, and so am i. my coworkers are disappointed, as they were hoping arkansas would rob lsu of many top recruits, who would go elsewhere had les decided to head for ann arbor.

oh, and espn....0-2 on les. but, they make up crap all the time with nary a word when they're proven wrong. i hope mike leach takes them to the cleaners.
