You know, him, robinson, Bowden, Bryant, and of course Saban, Meyer, all in the debate...

I'm way too stupid for the nuances on these boards. At some point in his life Paterno was a good college football coach who actually loves the university he has coached at for 60 years. I'll leave it at that.

thanks to les and co for another great season. six years, four 11 win seasons. 5/1 in bowl games. and for those who think big deal.....in all their years before les, two seasons with 11 wins.
i hope he stays. can't blame him if he goes after all the ingrates popping off this year. |

why would you be embarrassed about your team winning 11 times, the fourth time in six years that's been accomplished? it doesn't have to be pretty. all that matters is the win. i'll take a season like this again. i'd rather an ugly win than a loss any day. unless of course they start giving you something extra for style.

It's getting very interesting down here today. I wonder why, Danzig, LSU would be willing to waive Miles' buyout clause. Hmmmm???????? They have someone real good waiting in the wings. Del Rio, Gruden??????
|
Del Rio is "real" good. I've watched Jacksonville over the years, and I can't imagine that is what most folks would consider "good."

I have to give Miles credit for being a top recruiter and for getting his players to respond to him. Unfortunately, it often looks like LSU wins because of raw talent and risk taking and not because of superior coaching or game management. Hopefully the JUCO QB turns out to be a good one, and Miles keeps a close eye on him. |
there's already talk, with us getting mettenburg (sp?), that lsu is a top five team for next year. our offensive miscues were the difference in our two losses this year. the team is relieved he's staying, and so am i. my coworkers are disappointed, as they were hoping arkansas would rob lsu of many top recruits, who would go elsewhere had les decided to head for ann arbor.
oh, and espn....0-2 on les. but, they make up crap all the time with nary a word when they're proven wrong. i hope mike leach takes them to the cleaners. |
