the different is obvious. McCain didn't answer the question about the number of houses he owns incorrectly, he simply said I'll check with my people and get back to you. My guess is he wanted to avoid giving an incorrect answer that would be shoved down his throat later. It was a political gaffe for sure, and the Dems tried to make some hay with it.

Obama got his religion wrong, which seems inconceivable. I guess he does know the answer but for a guy that is supposed to be such a genius it seems odd, not consequential in the grand scheme of things but odd. Why did Obama say he had been to 57 states? how in the world is it possible to say that and not realize the mistake the moment you say it? He didn't.

Why vote for Bush over Kerry or Gore? Well because even though he mangles the language I preferred him over the other two who came across to me as ego driven repulsive blowhards. Not an enthusiastic vote but there wasn't much to choose from.

I'm a need a drink if OBAMA can't win either Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, or Virginia. Won't be like the previous 2 election losses though. For one thing, this lady is gunna be pretty funny the whole time. Atleast I have spent plenty of time with white trash adjacent like that. I don't hate them. She is not foreign at all to me. I can't relate to Bush, and especially Cheney. Neither went to fight. So, I wasn't really cool with them endlessly sending people into harms way. Atleast these 2 have either fought, or have kids that (by next year) will have fought. That's (to me) a plus. They are better(in my opinion) than these 2 now in there.

This is the conversation without the clever editting. No doubt he was a little clumsy with his words, but it's clear what he was referring to. He makes enough actual mistakes (like "you need to make sure your kid can speak Spanish.") There is no reason cut this conversation up the way it was cut up. Just makes the people who did it look childish. Did they really think the complete conversation about the subject wouldn't be put up? There is no doubt the guy is not nearly as good in an interview versus in a speech. He's a lawyer. He taught law school. I see no excuse for him to communicate this awkwardly. He may indeed lose because of it. If he loses, then you can bet he will be much better in interviews in 4 years. He will have to be. This type of awkward communication does hurt him. How much? I don't know. It's fair to bring it up. I mean the clip I have shows what he was trying to say. It also shows he said it very awkwardly. It's a definite negative. He is a little better than Bill Clinton was in speeches, but he has a long way to go to match Bill Clinton's ability to communicate properly in interviews. If he gets beat, you can look at this deficit for part of the reason why. I just said the other day that he can't be clumsy in interviews anymore, and then he goes n' does it again. Needs to communicate better.
