And thats what its about, numbers.

They wont be bad next year. Will make the playoffs.

Please... be correct.

I always worry about guys that look good against
bad teams. You never know.

WHO WON THE NBA TITLE ?

pgardn 06-26-2008 09:11 PM

DeAndre Jordan has just sat up there.

He will have to be a developmental league player.
No way they put him on the floor with NBA players
and have him completely lose confidence.

you just insulted the east....
celtics are legit title contenders for at least the next 3-5 years.

Look at the teams that made the playoffs in the East.
The west had a 50 win team barely get in.
How many 50 win teams in the East?

I doubt the celts are contenders next year let alone 5 years from now.

The lakers wont be a factor in 5 years either. The cycle in the NBA is about 3 years now.

HOw did you calculate that?
The Spurs have had a cycle a lot longer than that.
And I think they are contenders again next year.

CHUCK COME ON...they are contenders... they have 2 of the top 10 players in the game, 1 of the best shooters, and they will reload the bench i could see a 3 in a row,

LOLOL OMG IM GOING TO BED NOW, YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY.....
THEY HAVE 2 OF THE TOP 10 PLAYERS IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE, THEY PLAY AMAZING DEFENSE, AND THEY ARE CONTENDERS FOR AS LONG AS THE BIG 3 ARE THERE.

Ray Allen... injury prone
Paul Pierce tougher but gets hurt.
Garnett the toughest guy. But had a significant. ab injury.
Lucky it did not happen before the playoffs and they were
so far ahead he got all the time to heal he needed.

In the finals they had them healthy for the most part.
It takes a bit of luck, especially with older players.
Garnett is a young man, but not in basketball years.

Spurs obviously are the exception to the rule. look at who they beat in the years they won?

three best players are approaching mid 30's and were all injured at one time last year. The chances are that trend will get worse not better. take one of those guys away and they will be hard pressed to get back to the championship.

And they dont have 2 of top 10 players in the game.

The beat the champions of the East. Badly.
Except Detroit which they merely beat.
In fact they have never lost a finals.
In fact in all the years they have won
they cleaned out the West and then the Eastern champion.

Actually the clear reason they dont cycle is Duncan.
And some very good drafting to fit around him.

If a Duncan was available this year with David Robinson-like player
coming back, I would guess that team would have a chance.

What i meant is that they always beat a different team. Det, NY, Cleve,
hard to stay good because of the cap. you need young, upcoming guys but as soon as they get the big contract, you cant afford them anymore.

Cannon Shell 06-26-2008 09:48 PM

I think that Douglas -Roberts can play in the NBA. Whoever gets him at this point will be getting a deal especially since you dont have to pay him 1st rd money

Robinson and Duncan both restructured their contracts so the cap was not a problem. I guess they are a few of the guys that realize they have enough money and it is more fun to actually have a good team.

pgardn 06-26-2008 09:56 PM

Thanks for your insight C. Simon.
Fun for me as usual.

Is it me, or does this NBA draft coverage last longer than an NHL season?

Scav 06-26-2008 10:03 PM

Here we go again...same sh*t. Blah, blah, blah.

Name one thing good that has come from SIU.

Hell, at least UNC can lay claim to KYRIM:)

Cannon Shell 06-26-2008 10:26 PM

I am going to start a petition to get KYRIM reinstated if for nothing else to see her and the "new" PG1985 converse
