I dont necessarily agree about this. I wont oooh and awwe over the Travers as it gets near, but I wouldnt say the top 3 year olds arent attracted to this.
Its just by the time August rolls around, many of the best 3 year olds are hurt or retire because their greedy owners need a 9th house in the hamptons.
The Travers to me is just not all that and a bag of chips.

Didn't Birdstone, the horse who beat Smarty Jones in the Belmont Stakes, also win the Travers and Lionheart, 2nd to Smarty Jones in the KD, win the Haskell in 2004?
Personally I love races like the Jim Dandy, Travers, and Haskell, and they still do attract the best three year olds we have if they are not injured or retired. I like to watch the horses step up to the next level, and we are really going to have a lot of fun with them this year since we have so many good, talented horses that have not reached their peaks yet. Bernardini, Brother Derek, Sweetnorthern Saint, Discreet Cat, Corinthian, and Minister's Bid are all pointing towards the races. I'm sure that Jazil, Steppenwolfer, Sunriver, and Bluegrass Cat will show up at one of them too. Those all sound like the best three year olds we have to me.
Gander, this wasn't pointed towards you. I was just further clarrifying your point in that the races do attract the top three year olds that we have.
