we're going to have to agree to not see eye to eye on what I meant, because I've explained it roughly a half-dozen times and you don't get it. and you are still reading what I wrote how you see it, not how I've explained that I've meant it, and I'm a bit dissappointed that you can't take me at my word on that.

I tend to think that this is more your being stubborn for fun than any actual problem on my part, but for the sake of being sporting I'm willing to just agree to disagree.

OH! WELL! I thought it might be a SoCal vs Chicago thing...language wise thing,ya know. OK..I'll take you on your word that you meant what you meant. I'm never stubborn(and never for fun) I'll dutifully go to that site and report back!

I guess you can say that it's not important if he has extreme views because he is only man and he won't be able to have an effect on Congress. You could say that. But I don't think you would be saying that if this guy was a Christian with ties to the KKK or some other extreme groups. People would be very concerned and they would have a right to be. I don't know why you're giving this guy a free pass just because he is a Muslim.

Rupert,
Since you mentioned the KKK and all the concern it would cause if they showed up in Washington DC with their "extreme views", perhaps you'd like to do a "google" on Indiana politics, Stephenson.
And yes, the KKK did have many marches down Pennsylvania Ave in the late 1920's and early 30's.
I'll search it for you and post the link.

I think they had a pretty strong following even much more recently than that. I think they were pretty active in the Southern states as recently as the 1960s. Thankfully they don't have much of a following any more. They are a disgraceful group.

KKk is still strong today, the grand master used to live about a quarter of a mile from here. 2 local high schools are still named for them. As recently as 15 years ago, they were trying to make vincennes(a juco college here in IN) into a kkk school, they went as far as to detail classes and lesson plans, just couldnt generate the cash. Its not what it used to be but its still alive and kicking.
