Oracle, You better hurry and get down before the line goes up. They are already taking action at Pinnacle. The line opened at OSU -4.5. Now the line is up to OSU -5.

Just the fact that the line is so much lower than all you guys thought makes me like USC. When everyone thinks that a team is going to be an 8 point favorite and they only open as a 4.5 point favorite, I have to figure that the oddsmaker is sharper than the public. Haven't you noticed that when a line is way too low and the favorite looks like easy money, it usually turns out to be a sucker bet?

By the way, I haven't watched either team play this year, so I have no idea who is better.

Realistically, Michigan and USC should be playing for the right to play OSU. The differences between the two teams are slim. Michigan has a better feature back in Hart but USC has more depth overall. Both teams have big time receivers with nice complimentary receivers. Michigan has an ungodly turnover ratio with 10 turnovers versus 25 takeaways. USC can still get burned deep which is strange for a team with so much speed but they play an agressive west coast style D. Both teams lost primary receiver for some time this year and the QB's are eerily similar with Henne having more experience but Booty has been playing well of late. USC played a much tougher schedule but has a loss against an unranked team (though Oregon State would give any team in the top 25 a game in Beaver stadium) Michigan was life and death against Ball State in a game that everybody seems to forget. (I would safely say that Oregon State would beat Ball State by 30) Also I'm not sure what game you guys watched but If Ohio State doesn't make some bad turnovers, they wipe Michigan out. I thought that it was the most lopsided 3 point game I saw all year. Regarding conferences, the Pac 10 was much better top to bottom than the Big ten. The only quality teams from the Big Ten were OSU, Michigan, Wisc, and Penn State. Iowa was a dissappointment, Michigan State mailed it in after the ND game, Purdue is average at best, Illinois is bad, Northwestern is not good, Indiana stinks, minnesota was average at best. Pac 10 has USC, Cal, Oregon state, Ucla, Oregon, Asu, AZ, Wash state, all beat quality teams. Wash, AZ, ASU were not great but much better than Ill, NW, and Indiana. Stanford was the only real doormat in the league.
One thing that I give USC credit for is playing a tough non conference schedule. At Arkansas, Nebraska, Notre Dame is much tougher than Michigan playing Vandy, Central Michigan, ND, and Ball State. That alone should be the deciding vote. If Michigan wants to schedule cupcakes fine, but if strength of schedule is going to be a factor, then hold it against them and maybe they'll get a little more aggressive when they fill out the schedule.

I think SC lost 3 safeties and 2 linbackers and 2 RBs due to injury this year, but they keep improving!

Rup the odds on a game like this are set a little differently. Lots of sucker money and once a year betting money comes in, and when you have a team with a following like USC participating, they'd take their share of money regardless of how good they were and the opponent was.
I've seen both teams play, and no way in hell would OSU have lost to Oregon State, not even their 2nd string would lose to Oregon State.
They are getting an unexplained free pass on that game as compared to Florida and Michigan who lost road games to Auburn and Ohio St respectively.
OSU is just so much better in the trenches and they will flat out exhaust USC.

It's gonna be a close game,Mikey! Better batten down the hatches;)

There is no sucker money this early and by setting the line this low it looks as though the books want the sucker money to flow to OSU!

Mike: unlike you, I'm not fixated on a team, especially a team I don't like...kinda like you're doing! I think the game will be close...all the pressure will be on OSU to validate their lofty standing(which they deserve) and Troy Smiths' Heisman trophy. USC at its' best ...freewheelin and havin fun!

Here, this is an example of what I mean.Put your 1st name in there,or anybody's name in there, and you'll see an example of what a typical woman thinks is fun to do (while men are watching or playing in a competition.)A female just had to show me this.Couldn't f'n wait.It was of prime importance that she show me this.

SC had the #2 toughest schedule in the nation, Stanford had toughest, Oregon and Cal were top 15 at 1 point...so there goes that rationale!

Dude thats pure nonsense. I wanna see that ok?
Show me that ****.
How the **** could it be harder than any team, pick one, who plays in the SEC.
And anyone who says it was is smoking crack.

USC and its sickening hypocritcal fans have joined the ranks of the "Pukies" in college bball.
Last year you "win" a game thats obviously fixed, ref sees an illegal move and doesnt call it even though the guy who makes it celebrates in front if him, this is after spotting the ball incorrectly, not restarting the clock, and looking at a coach trying to call an illegal timeout and not throwing the flag on him.
That all happened in less than one minute. Maggot no character fans(like a few here, ahem, I forget nothing) gloat like morons after the game and say oh we won fair and square, we were best, etc.
Then they get beat in the Cahmpionship game and the same maggots(I know who you are, I remember all) who gloated after the ND game immediately resort to crying and blaming the refs for the loss. Ugh, talk about low lifes, thats rock bottom behavior fitting of a Duke College basketball fan.

Now the same maggots who cried no fair when USC was fairly denied a shot at the title a few years back are gloating because the whining and crying somehow, someway gets them a shot at the title even though Florida and Michigan also have only one loss on the road against MUCH BETTER TEAMS.

Then you have the payola last year going on with the players living in mansions.
You've joined Duke land as the hardest team to root for, mostly because of the maggot fans who gloat when they get away with cheating or a fast one, and cry foul over everything else when it doesnt go their way. Coach K and his minions just HAVE to be USC football fans, I see no difference between the two.

Mike: take a deep breath...then check BCS rankings on computer...gives SOS and other points and shows computer and human polls.

Oracle: I'm looking at USA today SOS rankings and SC is #3,Oregon,Cal,ASU,Stanford,UCLA all have tough schedules. It is regretable that you go off on tangents like this, and trash me because I happened to like teams you don't. I don't remember saying anythink nasty about whoever is your team,EVER! So.. whatever...you owe me an apology for abject character assissination! If you have a complaint, call Myles Brand...I'm sure he'll listen!

Dude,
I like you. But your behavior after the ND game was last year was typical of what USc has become (both with the breaks it gets and the behavior of fans), the Duke of college football.
You indeed gloated at the fixed ending of last years game.

Now I ask you, one year later do you still not see the injustice of that game and do you still gloating over winning one like that was proper.

I never gloat...people with no class gloat....that's not me. However..it's been almost a year since the title game and you're still talking about ND and Texas. I take no pleasure in bad calls(Oregon/Okla) and SC/ND. It's not a perfect world.

oracle80 11-28-2006 06:07 PM

I saw that Notre dame game as an absolute pararell of the Duke-Maryland fixed game of the 2001 Final four.
One team robbed because the almighty's want ratings at the end of the rainbow.
The same duke fans who gloated and declared "oh we won that game fair and square" are the same fans who whine and cry after every loss about officiating. You simply can't have it both ways and that behavior will make a team and its fans despised by many.
I seem to recall the same guys(ahem, cough cough) who gloated after the ND game last year whining and crying like schoolgirls after the National Championship over one or two marginal calls.
To me, you lose all credibility when you stop being objective.

Man I wish I could pull up those thread on Espn last year after the ND game. You are singing a much different tune now then you were then. You, particularly you, attempted to defend the reffing at the end of that game.
yeah, folks who acted like that brought me to scream and yell and celebrate for Texas like never before.
I wanted justice, so did a lotta people, and we sure as hell got it.
Its one of my all time greatest sports moments, seeing Young ramble in and exhausted and just walk back with his head down instead of celebrating with no a no class exhibition against a team whose qb got the heisman he deserved.

Explain to me how USC deserves to go to the big game with a road loss to Oregon st when Michigan lost to the number one team by a field goal on the road?
