I just find it funny that some people try to constantly discuss serious politcal points on a horse racing board (like it just never stops). So: the conclusion of the thread is that Evil Union Toll Workers, most of whom make $40-$50,000 for breathing in car fumes all day, shouldn't be allowed to work overtime to get up to $80,000 a year (even though only 27 out of 147 work those hours) or $100,000 a year (only 1 earns that much) because .... well, it's just not right!

They shouldn't be allowed to earn so much money!

Even though allowing them overtime is far cheaper than hiring more employees, even minimum wage ones. Even though their jobs are being phased out by automated lanes. They should be paid minimum wage, and no pensions! Because the taxpayer is stuck for that ... even though the worker pays the pension, not the taxpayer.
