I was wondering why ND passed on the guy who burned them with all those huge catches the other night.Somebody know?
|
Well...
Personally, I think almost any team in the SEC has a tougher schedule, but that's JMO. :p USC will get destroyed by OSU (and I don't care for either team.) Michigan would destroy USC as well... ;) |

I don't make these things up folks.....just punch up USA Today....Sagarin ratings..Strength of Schedule..it's all there. This is the system we have until they change it again next year!

Bad calls happen, nobody wants to talk about Notre Dame having SC dead 4 and 15, under a minute to go and what they give up what at least a 50 yard pass play? Just to draw a parallel so I don't get accosted as a ND hater, same day, PSU fans whine and cry about the 2 seconds put back on the clock at Michigan, but nobody wants to talk about the fact Paterno decided to kick to Breaston who returned it to midfield. Fact is bad calls happen...every team is on both sides of them but when you sit down and look at it, usually isn't the only reason they lost. |
After reading the previous I come to these statements:
If USC does play in the title game against OSU it will not be a blowout like many here are saying. The talent of the USC team is sure to keep the game competitive and Dwayne Jarrett is just marvelous on the football field as he simply toys with the opposing secondary. I understand that Booty was rattled in the 2nd quarter of the ND game but he settled down very nicely especially on the first drive of the 2nd half where they went right down the field and scored. OSU is a much better team than ND along with about 10-15 other teams in college football (don't get me started on the irish) and the way their offensive and defensive lines play will be beter than ND's line as stated. Skill position wise the teams match up nicely with Smith having a nice advantage over Booty, a tie in the running back department with maybe a slight edge to Pittman over Gable, Washington etc., and I beileve that Jarrett and Smith are the best recieving tandem in the nation. I find it crazy to say that pete Carroll will get blown out when in the ppast 6 years he has lost exactly 1 football game by more than 7 points. He gets crap about his struggle in the pros but he is hands down on the same level of tressel if not better. Tressel is wonderful as well but as long as Pete is coaching at SC they will be in a game for 4 quarters. Early Prediction: OSU- 31 USC- 28 |

Its the anti west coast bias that is pervasive on this forum. USC KILLED Notre Lame after some of these morons predicted an ND win. I have to say, anyone that predicted an ND win is either devoutly loyal or devoutly stupid...or both. USC went into Arkansas against a team that is playing in the SEC final and destroyed them. They lost one game, a conference game, on the road. Thats it. They beat up everything else. Now, what has Michigan beaten out of conference? And in conference, what was really that good in the Big ten besides Ohio St.?????? USC deserves the berth. |
Quote:
Is there any logic or rationale behind this statement? USC hasnt lost a game by more than 7 points in five years. |
Quote:
Arkansas was had a dinged McFadden that day, but like I said if USC wins out they should go. |
Quote:
Besides the conference, USC also beat Nebraska (handily) and Arkansas (very handily). What did Michigan do out of conference besides Dame? |

My biggest problem is the system. UM, UF, USC, OSU all deserves shots, I'd love to see a +1 system, where 1 plays 4...2 plays 3, but again it'll never happen, money, money, money. |
USC will have a tough game this week - they could lose
College football is tough to get the kids to get up for every game. USC hates UCLA, but, they hate ND even more. When USC plays at ND it is always in OCT, and when they play it at home it is always in late NOV , the week before the UCLA game. UCLA usually has a bye and a week off to get ready for USC. USC will have trouble giving a max effort 2 weeks in a row. UCLA will be in an all out max effort. Remember - they could have very easily won at ND, except for the meltdown in the last 2 minutes I expect UCLA to be at 100% for this game and USC only at about 75%. Thus , the game will be a lot closer than people think. Also last year the Bruin defense put on a horrible show in the Coliseum. The coaches and players have not forgotten how Carroll didn't take the pedal off the medal with Bush and Leinhart. They will be ready to go this year, the defense is much improved and they are going against Booty rather than Leinhart. Watch out a Bruin victory will throw the BCS in shambles - what if later in the evening Florida loses? Then we get our re-match of Mich and OSU - it is possible - USC is not a lock this week -- BIG LETDOWN in the rose bowl |

Blah, I hope USC wins. Let em play OSU and get humiliated on national tv. This isn't right, not at all. If a one loss team has to go to the championship, the logical criteria is supposed to be who had the strongest one loss season. Florida lost to Auburn in Auburn. Michigan lost to OSU by a field goal in OSU. USC loses to Oregon St. and they get the nod? How the hell does that make any sense? The media has fallen in love with USC, and they are getting the nod because of it. Its supposed to be the best two teams. Back when Florida St beat Florida in the regular season, and had a rematch with them in the big game, Florida absolutely killed them. No doubt Florida was the best team in the land that year. Imagine if they had been denied that because noone wanted a "rematch" between the best two teams? I'm neither a Mich fan nor a Florida fan, but whats right is right. We should be arguing over which one of those teams should be going. Let USC win and get blown out, maybe it will help next year if the same situation arises. |
I think the BCS should be Big Ten only since the media is consistently on the Big Ten's nuts every year.

yeah yeah yeah, we heard a lot out of you and the other nitwits last year before the championship game. Remember that "USC haters eat crow thread" that Seattle started where all you nitwits told us how they were gonna kill Texas and that those of us who liked texas to win were idiots? I sure remember it. And I sure remember you guys and that "genius" pete Carroll going home to get your ******* shineboxes after the game. I'm hoping for a USC win this weekend so you guys can run your mouths again before the OSU game and look just as stupid again this year. Counting the days my man. 40 days until they take a beating. |
I'm hoping for a USC win this weekend so you guys can run your mouths again before the OSU game and look just as stupid again this year.
look stupid? you mean like you looked when you predicted usc would lose to notre dame? that notre dame would run all over them. pure genius prediction. try again egghead. |
Quote:
Yeah, you guys looked brilliant in the last championship game. Pure genius. Ready for another beating? |
losing to texas and vince young in the last minute constitutes a beating...in what world egghead?
did you not say notre dame would run all over usc? or do i need to pull up the thread? now really, stop hating on usc and everything our state stands for. your act is getting old. stick to horses. |
I think Notre Dame is going to spoil their party anyway. USC does not have a high powered offense and they have trouble with teams who can score. Notre Dame should run wild on them.
LOL...Run wild on who exactly? a southern cal high school team maybe. tough luck for the notre dame girliemen. |

Lemme know how much you wanna go for on the championship game ok? |
i dont gamble on usc football i only worship.
and if i did gamble why would i bet with a person in cyberspace when i can go to the casino 10 miles from home and make a legit bet, not having to worry about getting paid. good luck with this. seems like you have too much time on your hands these days. over 5K posts, wow. you should be in guiness. |
Quote:
Yeah, looks like you do as well. I think the fact that you "worship" USC football tells me everything I need to know about you. Best of luck to you, you'll sure need it. |
mike,
some guy offered me ucla +20 in the other thread what a joke !! USC will have a tough time this week, they may be back in the rose bowl in 40 days representing the pac 10 . I have a feeling they may not get to the Ohio St game this week. They have been shaky on the road all year , they are coming off of the ND game and 3 games against ranked oopents, UCLA is rested and healthy , Booty has not played his best football on the raod this year, and even though this is a rivalry game it's a sandwich game for the trojans - they are looking ahead to OSU , coming off a pounding of ND , they get caught here - UCLA 27 USC 22 - This game is UCLA season , not USC - big difference here |
and best of luck to you and notre dame in whatever bowl they get to play in.
i'll have to check the paper for that score. cant imagine they will get to play anyone better than a rutgers like team. suppose this kind of game could be mildly entertaining. -chuck |
Just remember,Oracle,I'm not in this latest squabble! Did you happen to look at the SOS and BCS rankings?
|
Whats the big deal, we're #2. Who didnt think that? You heard it here first...
We will beat the Yuckeyes by more points than we will the Bruins. USC 42 UCLA 28 USC 35 Ohios State 17 GO TROJANS ! |
Quote:

Kind of off topic, but the only thing about the Trojans that I like is the horse. With that said, I don't believe they will get beat by UCLA this weekend... I don't see them winning by a huge margin, though...

I was glad to see the Gators suffer an early loss this season (basketball)... it's always better to get the kinks worked out early in the season. |
They will always have us in basketball, we will always have them in football. but we do like and respect each other and dont stoop down to ill behavior like Mich and the Yuckeyes do.
I expect a fun game this weekend. No blowout but the result never really in doubt. If we werent playing for the opportunity to play in the national championship, I would say a very good chance UCLA could rise up and beat us. But this means we get a shot at the Yuckeyes. Unfortunately I will be travelling with my team so I will not be able to be at the game. I already told my boss I will not miss the Natl Championship in Jan. I am on the coaching staff of an NFL team that resides in the middle of the country. Any guesses? Hint, we are very much alive for a playoff birth. |

you are on the Kansas City Chiefs staff - How is Herman doing these days since he left the Gang Green
|
Good guess Gales, yes I am with KC and I cant really talk about too much on here. But Herman is doing great, excellent guy. We're glad to have him.
This city leaves a lot to be desired, though I am a So Cal snob so my standards are set high. Cant beat the perks from this gig, free gatorade and all the MetRx stuff one can eat. I am not kidding, I literlally have 6-8 bars/shakes every day. |

My dad's high school friend is on a coaching staff in the NFL as well. Hes been to the super bowl. |
Hes been to the super bowl.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Their certainly are no truely dominant teams this year. If you want my 2 cents, the 2 teams to beat are the Chargers and Ravens. Beyond that, its as wide open as a Kansas City field. A lot of people counted us out 4 weeks ago but here we are holding strong. |
Quote:
LOL!! Actually hes been twice, and lost both times, including last year. If you know who I mean, tell him you ran into someone from Little Falls. |
not sure i know who you mean, how does he like working for Mike Holmgren? Hes a good guy I hear. Best of luck to him this year, I wouldnt count out a return trip to the Super Bowl for them. And if they do get in and its not us they are playing, I will be rooting for them.
