How these experts can look at the two individual games and come to the conclusion that Notre Dame is better than Texas is beyond me.

S.hit like this makes people dislike Notre Dame.

Even Alabama didn't get this much love when Saban took over. The pollsters were still conservative with their estimates.

But that's what you get. Notre Dame was the bandwagon team on the 80's. They are catering to the masses.

:tro:

IrishofNDMan 09-17-2012 09:49 AM

Safe to say Notre Dame is relevant unlike what Rick Reilly said.

Coach Pants 09-17-2012 09:51 AM

The hysteria is always relevant.

Until you get in a BCS bowl you're not necessarily back, Irish.

Unless two decades of mediocrity have lowered your standards...then yes you're back!!

IrishofNDMan 09-17-2012 10:17 AM

Two BCS bowls since 05, granted they were both losses. Is that good enough?

Coach Pants 09-17-2012 10:25 AM

That's right. Forgot about those two.

Didn't they have like 3 or 4 losses one season and still got a bcs bid?

Coach Pants 09-17-2012 07:13 PM

Broncos -3.5 +220

400/880

dagolfer33 09-17-2012 08:05 PM

Whats up with Manning and the wounded ducks so far tonight?

hoovesupsideyourhead 09-17-2012 08:32 PM

reality..

hoovesupsideyourhead 09-23-2012 08:16 AM

nice comeback win from the noles. after giving away 18 pts in stupidity.. after that performance i fear noone . clemeson has some speed..and playmakers.i would guess they will be strong next year..ucf is the game im worried about..

I wish Notre Dame had the same schedule as FSU, they shouldn't have a problem all year.

So far so good and I give you credit for calling it early.

Granted...you probably would have even if they were terrible ;), but they are a lot better than many, including myself thought.

That said, they still look like the 3rd best team in the nation after Alabama and Oregon.

Agree. I was obviously wrong about them.

Coach Pants 10-28-2012 09:24 AM

Well I'm looking forward to the next 9 weeks. Hoping the Tide keep things going. Want nothing more than a Bama - ND match-up and a Romney win so I can troll the sh.it out of this board and the people who actually believe that Oklahoma is a good team this year.

ND has a great defense. But what you saw last night was Bob Stoops getting exposed as a mediocre coach and great recruiter. Again.

How many times does Oklahoma have to lose in order for sanity to be regain on deciding who is an elite team?

The same Oklahoma that made Boise State relevant? Now we have to suffer with that god-damned marriage proposal in flashback ESPN fluff?

Meh.

Hell even LSU against Notre Dame. Les couldn't f.uck that one up.

I'll get bashed for saying this probably, but after the tragic losses manti Teo encountered and seeing the team rally around him at the Michigan State game I really had this feeling they were gonna keep it going. Teo is everything a college athlete should be. Can't slip up now, 11-0 going into USC will be huge! 8-0 and they graduate 97% of the football team, not too shabby.

This is the first time I can remember ND having a powerful front four on Defense. Tuitt is only a sophomore and Kiper said he's probably the best D-lineman in the nation. Manti Teo is a monster and on offense they have legit SEC speed for the first time in a long time.

Undefeated going into USC with s chance at going to the SHIP!

HERE COME THE IRISH!

I'm a notre dame homer but I pretty much hit it right on the head after 1 game... Great defense, speed on offense, and a good chance to be undefeated going into USC. I'm an ND homer but I do my homework on them and normally know the talent level pretty well.

ND could lose to Pitt this weekend if they don't take it serious and come to play, I know other ND fans are worried they will run the table and be left out, I think it will all play itself out and even if that did happen it would suck but 13-0 would still be the goal.

Coach Pants 10-29-2012 09:25 AM

Good grief. If I'm still here next Wednesday I'd like to make a DT wager with you on the BCS championship.

ND vs any opponent.

+7 ND

I've never said they are unbeatable, I obviously know they are. The way ND plays though I am not one bit scared of any team. They play the type of defense that will keep them in any game against any team.

dagolfer33 11-03-2012 07:05 PM

Good luck Coach/dd. Whether we have a chance or not depends on the hat. I just want to go down swinging, not that lame shiat that happened in the BCS.

golfer, your guys played well in the first half. let's hope for a good, clean, hard fought second half!

dagolfer33 11-03-2012 09:09 PM

We are going to have to throw a bunch in the 2nd half. And that can only mean 1 thing: Nick is blitzing.

IrishofNDMan 11-03-2012 10:37 PM

Let's go LSU!!

Danzig 11-03-2012 10:50 PM

Rotten double mush by the tard and nd fan. Too bad. Special teams was the deciding factor. Cant miss fg's like that.

dagolfer33 11-03-2012 10:51 PM

Miles is a slow-playing, clock-milking, c@ck sucker. Didn't work did it Les? F@ck off!!! Congrats Tiders.

Don't blame me, it would have been nice for Bama to lose but I hope LSU enjoys their 2 losses just as much. 9-0

And of course, all of the cred goes to RHT. I thought Mccarron just said in his interview, "I would like to thank God, all my teammates, and most off all, RHT."

Probably did. We are at a friends, so they changed it before we saw any post game stuff.
Bama didnt look like a team who could beat an nfl team like spurrier said they could. We should have won it. Too bad we didnt.

Coach Pants 11-03-2012 11:02 PM

Bama was flat all night...but Les was in full tard mode. Why not attempt the field goal? Getting stopped on 4th down is a huge momentum swing for a team that had none.

Idiot.

We wasted the best night Mett may have all year. He stood in and delivered the ball and way outplayed McCarron. U R right, too bad.

BAMA got off the deck and MADE a play when needed it most!
WOW! Lsu played as well as the could. Congrats to them for the effort.

Lacy must have been hurt in the first half, he was a non-factor in the 2nd. I think Saban must have been thrown off by all of the 2nd half play action passes. Bottom line: Miles is a tard, Bama is just happy to get the W.

Any way you could get Miles a number and a spot on Bama's roster?

The fake was a bad move. The two misses on top of it...

Anyway, everyone expected us to lose. I thought we did well, just didnt quite do enough to win. I dont know of another team this year that took bama to the wire.
Maybe next year.

herkhorse 11-04-2012 05:37 AM

Great game, Vern Lundquist was the biggest mush.

King Glorious 11-10-2012 05:52 PM

Getting all they want to handle from Texas A&M today. I have a feeling that we will be calling Texas A&M a serious national power real soon. They have had a successful first season in the SEC, destroying Auburn, Mississippi St., and Arkansas and playing very tight against LSU and Florida before this game today. I like the coach and think he's a good recruiter. A lot of prospects that chose Texas will start looking at A&M with them now being in the SEC.

King Glorious 11-10-2012 06:10 PM

Not looking good for the home team right now.

King Glorious 11-10-2012 06:15 PM

This dude Manziel is the best player in the country. Just a freshman. Very nice.

Danzig 11-10-2012 06:21 PM

Poor coach pants. Off the board and now the tide goes down.

Aggies first trip to tuscaloosa.

ddthetide 11-10-2012 07:32 PM

congrats to T-a&m. they played well and Bama was just not good enough today.:(
