I'm still trying to figure out how he got away with calling himself a Democrat.

Rough day for desperate cons like high-pitch and the old drug addict Limbaugh

Unemployment number went down a tick

Surely those two losers were hoping that it would go up again so they could pathetically attempt to score some cheap political points against BO.

Probably couldn't care less about the millions that the Great Bush-Cheney-Cox-Paulson Depression has left out on the street.

At any rate, the market is soaring again today ... and I'm looking forward to another outstanding summer weekend full of various water sports.

Golden showers?

ArlJim78 08-07-2009 12:34 PM

people must be desperate for good news if they take todays employment data as good news. the number of people working declined again for the ninth straight month. 155,000 lower between June and July.
1.7 million lower since the Sham Wow president took over and starting working his magic.

Time to strike up the band and let's all start smoking the green shoots!:tro:

Have you taken advantage of BO's "wildly successful" program and traded in that clunker yet, Cannon?

Crown@club 08-07-2009 02:54 PM

A couple of friends laid off yesterday and today. Its rebounding.....

I still wish the hacks from the Bush admin were still around to ask Cannon Shell and Arl Jim why they want to see America fail.

They are part of the new 'blame America first' crowd.

seems to me the reason they feel they way they do and are passionate about it is because they don't want to see America fail.

Please come up with some new material. We dont want America to fail, we merely point out the reasoning why the Govt's "programs" wont work. I might add we have been quite sucessful in that area so far. Thinking that rooting for Obama and company to do positive things will actually make that happen is the same as not changing positions on the couch during a 2 out rally that wont "help" your team score. Does ignoring the facts that he is screwing up the country far worse than Bush and company ever did (however in the name of change instead of war) make those that support him guilty as he is? We can revisit this in a few years and you can apologize to us then.

Whats the alternative though Coach? These arent stupid people and the destruction of the dollar isnt exactly lost on them. Bernanke, if anything, has been criticized in the past as being too much of an inflation hawk.

This is one hell of a mess this country is in. There is no easy solution and obviously letting the markets take care of themselves was not the answer.

The alternative? Well since we are already fat chick ass deep in a Keynesian economics era I suggest WWIII.

That is not a bad prediction actually. If you can't spend your way out of a recession, you sure can war your way out of one.

I have no clue what point you're trying to make. what country should I blame for the insane spending habits of the US government?
This thread is on a domestic economic issue. blame America first usually involves an action by a foreign entity.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-08-2009 09:04 PM

Why do you hate America?

It's unpatriotic to point out insane spending habits.

You're either with us or against us. So, love it... or leave it.

But, Obama is our president!

So it would be extremely unpatriotic to not offer him support and pray for him in these difficult times.

I offer him my full support. If he wishes to utilize my services to straighten things out I would be happy to help. While I am doing the dirty work he could run out with the NBC crew and pick up some burgers for us to eat since he has already shown a talent for being a gofer. Not much talent other than reading off the telepromptor.

And you can tell this after eight months??????????

What did you think of Bush after 8 months?

Reagan?

FDR?

What would the country have thought of Lincoln after 8 months?

The standards set for this president are ridiculous. He honestly can do no right with some people.

As far as reading off of the teleprompter, that puts him a leg up in front of your guy now doesnt it?

No actually the standards were very low. And he has not exceeded them. He is a figurehead for the left who has never stopped campaigning.

No he doesnt hate America. He is just arrogant enough to think that he as the head of a much broader govt he will be able to provide a kumbaya style life to the oppressed paid for by the evil rich white males. He is more of a typical faux intellectual Harvard type than anything. Overeducated but polished. Worldly but clueless to the real world.

Funny how everyone becomes a historian and wants to discuss every other president in history, anything to avoid discussing the current mistake that resides in the White House.

He hates what America represents, he hates the qualities of America that I think are it's best assets. just like the Harvard types, just like his racist pal and liberation theology disciple reverend Wright, just like his mentor the communist Frank Marshall Davis, just like Bill Ayers the domestic terrorist, just like his soulmate and comrade Hugo Chavez, they all despise what America stands for. you don't see the hate, you only see the smooth exterior, but its there if you pay attention to what has been said and done.

so yes, he's motivated by his arrogance to think he can make America into something good, merely by the power of his personality.

Riot 08-09-2009 11:18 AM

Wow.

Now we actually have Cannon and ArlJim arguing with each other about how much the President of the United States hates America.

If I had to have someone in my corner, and this country's corner, I'd take Bill Ayers over Dick Cheney 24/7. The rest of what you wrote can be substituted for any Enron exec, Jeb Bush and Bush Limbaugh all day long.

No man...the point was that Reagan was a moron who followed his wife's tarot cards to make a decison. What a loser...

JJP 08-09-2009 10:43 PM

Right now the biggest moron is the guy who will jack up the deficit from $560 billion when he took office last January to $1.8 trillion by the end of this year......and over $10 trillion within 6 years if his healthcare and cap & trade, tax and destroy America go thru.

As for the original topic of the thread, Stocks, I've enjoyed this run up but have started taking money to the side in the past 2 weeks and will continue to do so. This rally is nothing more than a technical rally off extremely oversold lows from last March. The economy is still awful; banks aren't lending, consumers aren't spending (except for car buying now instead of 6 months or a year from now) and commodity prices are rising. The crash is coming. Not exactly sure when but I would guess sometime before 2010.

The economy definitely will NOT be back in 2 years. Barack will be one and done. His best shot at getting re-elected will be if his 2 big initiatives do not go thru.

Its even funnier that you would knock a guy about his fiscal responsibility and then hold Ronald Reagan up as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Al Gore may well have invented the internet but its safe to say that Ronald Reagan invented deficit spending or at very least perfected it.
