Didnt he cry on TV. Any grown man who cries on TV has my forgiveness. Plus it does take balls to walk around with that haircut.

Very true. Either that or he just cant get beyond his dream that one day he will be in Nascar. If the time ever comes and that cat still sports that do, he'll slide right in.

The secret to great Holiday cooking is cooking with Swanson's broth.

I f'n never knew that.Gander did you ever realize this? I imagine if they ever open up Drew's shoulder, they will see something a lot uglier than broth.

Gander 12-19-2006 05:53 PM

Who is Drew?

Yuck. Red Sox just throwing around money like confetti.
Tell me exactly how this guy is going to be a difference maker?

PS- I hope I eat these words next summer/fall.

Scuds, you be the first to bring back this post.

Also, I love the idea of the fine money going into the pick 6. That would be sweet.

I want the entire system revamped so that we can make fair and equitable rules and penalties for breaking those rules. Currently the system is so screwed up that any fix is just a bandaid or PR attempt. But I do believe that if a trainer is found using EPO or another substance that only be used for enhancement they should be given a serious penalty, not a slap on the wrist. However almost every positive test that we hear about is an overage of a widely used and accepted medicine. Most of these positives have very little effect and many of them are only called positives based upon the rules of a particular state. Meaning that 2 nanograms of a particular medication may be found in a horses system, state A calls it a positive, state B does not. When you bet on the race in state A you feel cheated even though the SAME amount of medication is being run on in state B, where you have no problem.

I have no idea what percentage but I'd be willing to bet that its pretty small. Most trainers are stupid or they would have taken up something else. Myself included.

He is not a difference maker. He started playing well in the last part of the season(probably because he knew he was gunna try to get a contract with somebody else.)Most people will always remember him making out #2 of that ugly doubleplay at home plate against the Mets.Damn dope....Atleast he has some ability to hit,but so many times he simply hits a weak little infield grounder to somebody.

Gander 12-19-2006 06:22 PM

I got the chance to watch the Dodgers quite a bit this past year. He had his moments but I am not thrilled we signed him. Probably will bat .250 and make very few errors. Maybe 25 HRs if he stays healthy and plays 140 games.

Some day J D Drew will play 150 games , hit 40 HRs bat .320 with 120 RBIs and we will all say how we knew he had it in him. The next year we'll get the usual.

Do they have a stat for hitting against good pitchers? Seems like he helped us a lot in making the playoffs(the last week against Colorado n' Frisco,)but when he faced anybody good (at pitching,)he wasn't much.
