my father used to have a cd called The Highway Men or something. had Williie and Cash and a few others I think. never cared for it, but it was better than a lot of the stuff he listened to. Repent |

sang some song about a guy and his daughter I think. O'Reilly likes Bono. I personally do not. he is all about humanatarian crap. thats fine, I just dont like the way he tries to make others who dont give a damn feel guilty about not helping some starving aids kid in Africa. Repent |

they did that greatest hits thing where they had one cd for the first half of their career and one for the 2nd. amazing to see the difference. they were doing some great stuff back with Rattle and Hum and The Joshua Tree. the 2nd half of their career has been very ordinary. I dont know if they got clean or what, but whatever they did is not working for them. Repent |
checked your hero list Somer.
Bono was not there, but it was only a list of 5. Im not saying he is bad. He does a lot of good for the causes he believes in. just dont see why he tries to make the rest of us feel guilty. some of us just dont care about others. Repent |

I think its hard to misunderstand comments like: "lennon was a communist. anyone who mourns his death is a communist sympathizer or worse. if I was NYPD commissioner, Id arrest everyone of those freaks and at least put a scare into them. just beat them a bit or deprive them of sleep, but something to straighten them out" |
I thought Repent put Ed Norton up because he's cute and was really cut in that movie. The other guy he had up (the sensitive-looking 1970's-esque one) was cute, too (who is that, anyway? An athlete? Actor? What? I'm so dense about celebrities, if he is a celebrity).

He and Jackie G sure gave me some laughs. Like a few others around here. Ralphie in the NYC sewers, Jackie drivin' the bus. "Alice, you're going to the MOON!" |

thats reading a little too much in to it I think. Ive never heard them explain the songs origin, but it neve mentions anything about someone's father. Alive is about a failed mother, but Rearviewmirror leaves a lot open to interpretation. Repent |

A good actor for sure, but not a hero. I just thought the pic looked cool. Repent |

personal hero of mine and my parents got my middle name from him. won 5 individual gold medals in speed skating at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid,NY. grew up with stories of his greatness and thats a person I have always aspired to be like, although I fell way short. Repent |

It is 100% about leaving home and an abusive father. It's even obvious if you read the lyrics. Alive is part of the mamason trilogy.....Once ( about a serial killer - the father ), Footsteps ( about the dude being on death row ) and Alive which is about the relationship between the surviving wife/mother and son. |

perhaps you are one of those want to be insider guys who hangs out on pearl jam chat rooms and talks about this crap, but from the lyrics alone, its not specific about what relationship(if any relationship) the song's theme is compromised of. I dont even need to look at the lyrics to know that. never mentions the word "father" at all. Repent |
