I didn't make any assumptions at all except that it was a reference that I didn't understand and I just figured it was something over my head. Good to know that it was a simple mistake by siri and not something I was too dumb to understand. Computers can make you crazy when they anticipate your words with auto correct and not get it right. That is very annoying.

Alrigh, I though the rule in English was if a vowel is followed by another vowel the rist vowel is long not short, so niche would be pronouned to rhyme with night or niceh long "i", but wait we are talking English and there really ar no rules are there?! It is a handicapping forum, but when there are no races to handicap we have to make do with whatever comes up which sometimes is far afield from horse racing. As for the word niche, I have no clue about rules for pronunciation. Have heard it nitch like you spelled it and more like kneesh. Not even sure it is an English word. Tomaytoe tomahtoe Let’s call the whole thing off. Looks like the war going off outside my house may be over for awhile, but I’m sure it will resume somewhat for a few days after the 4th.
