I know some want to see it, but I don't think it's a big deal, Baffert said they had to pour a bucket of water on Silver Charm before the Dubai World Cup, because he looked like he wanted to fall asleep...

Also, these are racehorse, not show horses, it doesn't matter what they look like as long as they are fast....

I just don't agree. When a horse's coat isn't shining, they're washed out, etc, it makes a huge difference in how they perform.

You should read the book "Baffert: Dirt Road to the Derby" written by Steve Haskins, it's a good read...

That's fine, I don't really care, mostly because if I am in Leg 2 or 3, it really doesn't matter at that point...

I have to defend Haskin on this one. I actually thought the same thing here - so I'm guilty too....

The truth is that Haskin is one of the VERY FEW analysts in this game who I really respect for knowing his stuff. Nobody is more thorough - and most importantly, he is one of a couple at best who actually has great instincts and a good eye about horses and doesn't need performances on the track to always spell it out for him....most in this industry are far less talented and are reactors and not proactors...

As a matter of fact, there was a NOTICABLE void at the DRF when he left and there still is to this day IMO, while Bloodhorse has significantly improved with his services.

The guy is great and doesn't get enough credit for his service to the industry IMO....there would be a HUGE editorial void of any value if he was not around....

AND NO, I do not know him well at all.....it is just the truth and I give credit where credit is due...
