Forget whose silks this came up with that helped alter the standards... might have been Brother Derek with the NBC peacock on the jacket.

The only thing I was aware of is the specific rule that text is not allowed. That's why Indian Blessing had only a longhorn on her silks instead of the typical "no bull."

So glad New York has a rule on the books outlawing nasal strips. Meanwhile Michelle Nevin is improving horses 10 lengths off other trainers for all of Rick Dutrow's old owners and no one bats an eye.

I just scratch out her name and right in Rick Dutrow.

For one reason, Sherman asked for permission and O'Neill said he didn't because he wasn't aware he could.

Does it really matter? Who really cares about Nasalgate?

I know its history, but this is clearly a double standard by the NY Stewards. I dont think O'Neil asked because he was shot down before he could, it sounds like. It was about his reputation they did not like IMO.

That prick Mike Wilbon just called the Belmont a fraud because of the nasal strip decision. Effin guy always craps on racing. Kornhiser adamantly disagreed with him the entire time.

Now that the stewards have allowed the nasal strips I have to say I'm happy with the publicity that's been created. At the golf course today several guys who for all I know have never followed racing asked about it.

So I think, so far, it's all good!

Yeah I've seen some of this too.

It's pretty well know I'm into horse racing and 3 different people who never talked to me about it before stopped to discuss. Of course one is a freaky "pretty horsey" cat lady type but she means well and is at least rooting for him to win it strip or not. I suspect it won't be the last conversation I have before the race. All in all it seems like good PR to me.

Only one of the three has changed since then. Steve Lewandowski new. Dr. Hill and B. Baeza Jr. are not.

I saw that--Wilbon was screeching like a howler monkey, apparently for no other reason than he could. It is hard to find a bigger douche on ESPN, although Skip Bayless gives him a run for the money.

shows lack of knowledge, shocking ain't it, on behalf of wilbon.
