A paid one at that!

I think its time to start suspending the whole team. If the trainer gets a vacation, since thats how they always treat it, everything continues as usual.

Doug O'Neil should be happy Leondra Mora is winning at a high percentage while he enjoys his vacation. Mora has a positive ROI in almost every category in the last 3 years with 119 starts. All those starts occured during O'neils previous suspension. Its a win win win situation for Oneil. So what prevents him from doing it again?

Some teeth coming next year....

Step in the right direction but remember that DO "volunteered" to start his suspension early...Under the new rule I assume he wouldn't have started early and thus had several entrants in the BC.

If they wanted to put any teeth into the suspensions, it would be easy to do. Just disqualify the horse from racing for 12 months, and the owners would quickly clean their own house.

i think when a stable is caught doing something, the whole team should be suspended...not just the head trainer. what good is it when it's business as usual, and the guy in charge takes a 'vacation' since that's how they all refer to it? the horses should have to move to another barn altogether, not just run in an assistants name-that's no punishment at all.

It's much easier to legalize any medication.

The War on Drugs has failed and it is failing miserably in horse racing.

Legalize all of it and the stats will have some semblance of fluidity.
