I like Oxbow for the Derby. Four prep races (unheard of in this day of kid gloves) and he seems like a tough sob who actually thrives on racing.

Now I must go shovel my driveway and walk the dogs. :)

You anywhere in Northeast?..have friends from Hartford,CT driving down thurs to visit on their way to FL...They've been hammered all winter..

Southwestern Mass. in the Berkshires about 50 minutes from Hartford.

I'll take winter any day over the heat, humidity, and insects.:)

My horsey is scared of his own shadow -- humans on surfboards would terrify him!!!

I had a really nice trail ride on the San Diego beach almost 20 years ago. I'd forgotten about it until I read your post. Good memories.

San Diego was a fun city. Hope to visit it again someday.

You forgot snakes, ticks(miserable insects) and sweet tea...:D
Don't see much of them in recent years..
Still take all of that compared to tire chains or snow tires and shovelling snow...Humidity worst of above...

Water bugs my a.ss! I remember when I was around 9 or 10, one had gotten in my bed (ahhhhh!!!) and I freaked the hell out (as you can imagine..) and jumped out of my bed. Then the HUGE thing started flying around my room!.. I hit the floor, then ran and woke up my brother to come kill the damn thing so I could go back to sleep :D

When this board was going great it's because there were great discussions on racing. People actually had opinions on races both before and after the races and shared them.

I'm not sure why that doesn't happen anymore, but I just don't think people stopped talking racing because they couldn't argue the same political stance over and over again anymore.

I agree.

I can make Saratoga in a hour and a half if no traffic and going the backroads through the Berkshires. I avoid NYC and Boston.:p
