I have been a fan of this horse since the 2002 Belmont; I played Sarava and an exacta with Perfect Drift. Too bad it was Medaglia D'Oro who came second. Eddie D could not deliver for me on Perfect Drift. He beat my boy Mineshaft in a Grade I in Kentucky getting weight from the champ and a better ride. I admire this old warrior, but Giacomo will be flying late; both will be looking at Bernardini's rear.

I don't think it is a stretch at all to say that Perfect Drift doesn't belong in the Classic considering he hasn't run a triple digit Beyer all year. Most people would toss a horse from consideration in the Derby under those circumstances so saying he doesn't belong in the Classic seems pretty reasonable. He was a very nice horse that accomplished some wonderful things but he just isn't BC Classic material anymore.

Jul Lep is your next superstar. Also I think Eibar Coa will eventually be at the top. Little by little Coa is moving up steadily.

The horse runs 9 times out of ten in one of the top three spots in the best of company even, and you all think he shouldn't be in the Classic?

I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and you can call me crazy if ya want. But I think you doubters are the crazy ones.

I agree, Buffy. Let them all eat crow later on...

Ignoring the grass form he lost by a nose to Seek Gold, 5 lengths to Suave, and ran up the track in the Pacific Classic. A repeat of any of those efforts will not get him top ten in the Classic. Last year he ran those three races with Beyers of 102/102/112. This year he went 99/96/not sure of the PC figure but it wasn't good. There is a lot of evidence that he isn't close to the horse he was last year.

He's like a horse in Gallop Racer who is clearly on he downward slope.

This " I love Perfect Drift, he's so wonderful, how dare you criticize him " argument is pretty lame....to say the least.

I am curious....how much money will those defending him be betting on him in the Classic? Isn't that really all that really matters? If you can't defend 'em at the windows you can't defend them here.

I can defend him all I want. I think he belongs in the race. That is my opinion. Just because I normally don't bet, doesn't mean diddly doo-doo. I handicap races just like you guys do. Saving to buy my own horse which takes precedent over the betting on horseracing. Just cause I don't put money down, doesn't mean a person can't handicap a race.

I am not going to argue. Either you or I will be eating crow after the classic. But since you don't think he belongs in the race, then when he finishes in one of the top three spots, don't be acting like "I told you so".

I'll wager that you and I will NOT be eating crow after the BCC, Buffy. :D

I like that game Gallop Racer...All of the horses that have trained so far have sucked...The foal that I named Winning Colors was DEFINITELY not Winning Colors...All of the horses that I have bought though have been excellent and I have ridden a bunch of GI winners.:D I agree with you about Perfect Drift, although I think that they should take a shot with him in the BCC. However, I don't think that the horse is what he used to be. And yes, if I'm wrong, I'll eat crow:D

I have no life so I've played it like 12 million times. I actually once bred the perfect horse.....125 on both grass and dirt.

and this -he doesnt belong in the bcc is pretty lame on your part to say the least. i could give a rats ass if you criticize him, thats what a message board is for, to speak your mind and me mine. your op on him being in the bcc means jack he's earned his right until proven otherwise, like i said on big days he runs big races even if he doesnt win, and yes black ,i will be putting my money were my mouth is

those speed figs are not his best i agree, but if you follow drift you would know he runs to the level of his competition and will run run much better then those figs in the bcc.no this this year is not as good as previous but let me say this it could look a whole lot different in those races you mentioned. a grade 1 missed less then a nose, ran as well this year to win the wph as last year when he won and hit a horse in suave who ran a freak race.and the del mar is the one i cant figure out, that was not drift at all in that race.he never breaks that slow and falls that far behind the field-EVER. was his worst race he ever ran in his life. i do know this, the horse after the race was still full of energy and full of himself and the connections were not that happy with guidry, very suspect run out of him at del mar , has never ran and had to come from that far out of it in any of his other races. throw that pc out

Does Sun King belong? He finishes second a lot. But because he hasn't won should we keep him out of the race?

buffy, tell him to keep on taking a hit !!!!!!!!!

excuses for what? that he shouldnt be in the bcc this year? thats what im debating , not if hes going to win it. so he doesnt win does that mean he doesnt belong in the claasic? thats what im debating here. and those are legit reasons to be in the bcc.

My point about excuses were simply in reference to what i always hear about perfect drift. "it was only a nose" or "if the jockey had started him sooner". That kind of thing.

How many jockeys is the horse on now? They dont like Guidry. They didnt like Desormeaux. I guess they didnt like Gary Stevens either.

As far as him not "belonging", i dont agree with that. He belongs in there to have a shot at a minor placing. To win? You are just giving your money away if you bet him to win at this point. I will defiinitely have him underneath though in tris and supers.
