It's perfect. Think of how awful things have been in New York. Quite frankly they deserved it. Now they'll be forced to fire people.

ateamstupid 06-08-2012 11:01 AM

Well this is a bummer.

tiggerv 06-08-2012 11:01 AM

Brutal

fpsoxfan 06-08-2012 11:02 AM

Shitty. I was against him tomorrow, but if he would have won.... It would have been OK. Really crappy.
Still a really good card, and for the people who thought he could not get beat its a better betting race. I almost feel like I can go back to hating Union Rags.

The one good thing to come out of it, I suppose. Eff it, I say let the gate workers strike then. I'm not sure I even want to watch racing tomorrow now.

It seems to be easier than you'd think though.

Not really.

Disastrous ideas by state government, nyra, and just about everybody else involved results in s.hit like this happening. Bad luck is contagious.

**Preparing for Brett Favre-like tv coverage tomorrow**

Sickening.

There was lots of chatter about his soundness prior to the derby, which is why I left him off my tickets. I am not suprised this finally caught up to him. What a shame for the horse. I am happy the trainer does not go down in history though.

OldDog 06-08-2012 11:05 AM

Thank God he didn't break down in the race tomorrow.

Arletta 06-08-2012 11:05 AM

Dullahan the favorite now?

i would have liked to see a horse win the triple crown, just because i'm curious what would happen after.

Him and Union Rags are HORRIBLE CHALKS. Union Rags would have been OK at 5-1 as the third choice. All Paynter for me, and maybe some bomb to mess around with.

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-08-2012 11:08 AM

jon white weeps..his tc bet goes down..

from espn:

NEW YORK -- I'll Have Another's bid for a Triple Crown ended with the shocking news that the colt was out of the Belmont Stakes due to a swollen left front tendon.

According to Dennis O'Neill, brother of trainer Doug O'Neill, the horse galloped Friday morning and after a veterinary scan, the tendon seemed "kind of tender."

Dennis O'Neill told The Associated Press that "the horse is sound and happy, but it's not worth it."

Doug O'Neill, in an interview with "The Dan Patrick Show," said the horse being scratched is "not tragic, but it's a huge disappointment."

O'Neill will hold a news conference early Friday afternoon at Belmont Park.

After winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, I'll Have Another was on the verge of becoming the first Triple Crown champion since Affirmed in 1978.

When Patrick asked Doug O'Neill if I'll Have Another has raced his last horse race, O'Neill said, "If I had to wager ... I would say yes."

declansharbor 06-08-2012 11:09 AM

Someone ask RTH if he advance wagered on IHA.
