Probably removed more because the only "original source" on the story is Fox News, and the story is completely unverified. AP picked it up verbatim from Fox.

Fox probably has special access to North Korean radio and TV that nobody else has.

This is the Korean News Agency page http://www.kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm and the story is there (with all the other condolences stories). Unfortunately, the KNA isn't known for accuracy.

So without the verification from the other side (this would - should - never be done without US State Dept permission, as former Pres often serve as proxies) ... no story until so.

Condolences to Kim Jong Un from Former U.S. President

Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, received a message of condolences from Jimmy Carter, ex-president of the U.S. on Dec. 19.

In the message Jimmy Carter extended condolences to Kim Jong Un and the Korean people over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

He wished Kim Jong Un every success as he assumes his new responsibility of leadership, looking forward to another visit to the DPRK in the future.

Didn't say that, but don't let that keep you from your assumptions :tro:

Your the one who said it wasnt a story, all I said was that I was glad it was cleared up. Why are you so snide? A person cant even respond to things you type without you being defensive, I was being sincere and you are just well...being yourself I guess.

Just responding to you as you treat me.

It would be a terrific story if it is found out Carter went outside the current administration to send condolences. Have you bothered to check for updates? Or are you just going to stick with, "he did it, he's a jackwagon"? based upon the word of the North Koreans and Faux News?

Just going by the title, I thought this was going to be a happy thread! At least he wasn't "Our Tyrant".

ditto being glad i'm where i am but i think this is a more nuanced view.

it's a society lost in it's own strange belief system.
