Your use of smiley faces is indeed impressive, much more so than providing stupid facts and presenting a logical train of thought much less a real argument.

I will help him out.
Port Authority has people working a troubling amount of overtime which has them making far more than their job is worth (which only matters because they are on the tax payers dole)

Some of us believe this is something that tax payers should be concerned about.

You and Riot somehow believe that our skepticism towards people whose hardest task is making change for a $20 making $80000 a year is to accuse us of being "against the middle class" or "blaming unions for everything that is wrong" or "against pensions".

In a nutshell

How can you argue/debate with people who think they are never wrong? It's a never ending battle, that's not worth the time or effort anymore.

I just find it funny that some people try to constantly discuss serious politcal points on a horse racing board (like it just never stops). The amount of material that is posted is absolutely mind blowing. It's almost like Drugs going to some Political board and wanting to have a serious discussion about speed figures in a sports room. If you have all this time and really believe in your cause, why waste it here? Wouldn't you be better off served debating people who are as devoted to politics as you are? Or is it possible, if you went in to the deep end of the pool with the real political know it all's, these people would expose you for the frauds that you are? So instead you just stay here in the kiddie pool, post constant dribble, praise Obama and the great job that he's doing and debate with people who stumbled in to a thread because Aqueduct and Gulfstream were dark.

Although I disagree with Riot on many many things, she does fight a good fight, you on the other hand seem do a pretty good job holding her purse. I'm really not sure what you bring to the table. Actually the more I think about it, you seem to play both sides on many occasions. I guess you are a true politican at heart.

In a nutshell

You forgot about those who drive up that overtime right before retirement in order to boost those pension payouts.

Not saying you did or didn't Cannon, simply saying that one religion is the same as another.

it's cheaper to pay someone ot than to hire more employees. that's a fact, and explains why many companies are doing the same work with less people. the people getting ot might not like it, not everyone wants to work over 40. but in the current climate, people aren't complaining much. they're happy to be working at all.
so yeah, when someone says in a headline 'toll workers raking it in' it sounds wasteful. but is it?

as an aside, perhaps the govt could look at ways to take some hiring burdens away? they've cut the payroll tax to employees, but not employers.

If they did hire more toll takers and reduce the hours of the current employees, the current employees would be howling from the rooftop that they are only making a measly $60k when they are used to making over $100k.

Not to mention that the job is obsolete and every toll collector could be eliminated and replaced by machines at a much cheaper cost except that the union contracts protect unneccessary jobs?

Somehow this is being ignored in this ridiculous debate.

Good luck with that perpetual victim thing :(

You're jumping to a conclusion about Cannon, but if he did feel this way, he'd be right a vast majority of the time.

very true!! and it boggles the mind to see good union brothers hogging jobs rather than pushing for hires-thus increasing the amount of union members. people are all for unions when it fills their need, and against them when it doesn't. after 9-11 the mill had a temporary slowdown, and cut electricians to 32 hours. some senior guys wanted their 40, cut the junior men to 24 they said...yeah, real union-esque.
my husband happened to be in a breakroom at work when some folks were griping about the $2 per pay period increase in union dues. they were outraged, and wanted to know just who agreed to that?! he said it had been discussed over a period of meetings, and then voted on, and that they should have been at the meeting to voice their opinion and make their choice.

at any rate, people making the kind of money to push their ot to those levels for toll collection is absolutely outrageous. just points yet again to the issue of govt workers making more than the private sector, which is ridiculous and makes no sense.

The old "city negotiated this deal" excuse. Because we all know that unions have never influenced elections in NYC. We all know that the unions would never strike or make out of touch demands to those same politicians that they put in place. We all know that union leaders know that it doesnt matter how badly they screw the city with these deals that the state or feds will ride to the rescue. Is Hazel Dukes your idol?

you would almost be amusing if you weren't so pathetic. I've got news for you. You don't pay **** for pensions. the workers pay into it every week and who gets to use the money to make more money? .....the guys who pay the pensions. Thats how it works genius. Why do you think some guys make all that money in OT ? it's because no one else will work it. most won't even consider it. Ya know why ? because the job rots your brain as well as your lungs. You try standing on the GW on a february night when it's 4 degrees out and the wind is howling. Try standing in a booth all day...6 am - 10 pm. for the ot. then rush home to sleep a couple of hours and do it again. Lets not forget all the abuse ya have to take from a bunch of "brave in their car" "half a sissies" who wouldn't dare look at you like that in the street, without catching a slap. it all looks so easy....until you try it. You wouldn't last a week out there. After the first day you'd be home crying for your mother. When was the last 16 hour day you put in ? Actually with all the whining you do, you'd probably fit right in.

Alabama Stakes 12-15-2011 07:17 AM

Gay porn workers don't get pensions. the workers do anal every week and who gets to use the lube to take more scenes? .....the guys who take it in the rear. Thats how it works genius. You try standing on a boat on a february night when it's 4 degrees out and the wind is howling and you've got three cocks in all orafices. Try standing in a studio all day...6 am - 10 pm. for the ot. then rush home to take heroin and oxies for hours and do it again. Lets not forget all the abuse ya have to take from a bunch of "well endowed black men" who wouldn't dare go balls deep like that in the street, without catching a slap. it all looks so easy....until you try it. If you work in a toll booth then you made some life choices that got you there. If you are happy great! If not tfb.

So if we drop your name at the GW Bridge, do we get any sort of freinds and family discount?
