Following you!
I NEVER said he was for gods sake.
I said he was good for the Giants.
And I was referring to receivers.

I dont know about the best, but he is damn good.
The Giants were looking for his type. Blah, blah about
receivers.

Sheesh...

Whoops I see I put your post in quotes
not the KIngs. This is most likely the screw up.
My bad.

You seem to have a rather odd fixation with male genitalia, declansharbor. Somehow doesn't surprise me, though. lol

At any rate, I'd rather be "tarzan'ing" from a proven WINNER like Pete Carroll than from a guy (Reid) who has never won a championship as a head football coach.

MaTH716, we can go back and forth and post our opinions about Reid-McNabb for the next two weeks, but here's the bottom line ... they've been together for something like 130 games now ... that's a hell of a looooooooong time in this league ... and the only thing they have to show for it at this point is a single conference title.

As much as it KILLS me to say this ... I'll go on record right now ... the Birds will never win an NFL championship in the Reid-McNabb era.

Hope I'm dead wrong on this count, but highly doubt that I will be…

A proven winner, huh? How did his 'experiment' in the BIG LEAGUES fare? Just wondering. hahahahahaaha...What a joke.

and if i'm not mistaken, didnt Bill Cowher win the big one in his 14th year of head coaching? was it 14? His career is considered a success, and so will Robust Reid's be when it's all said and done.

and heres my daily fixation on male genitalia.

Do you know a Bob Daheada?

Bob Daheada my d!ck in your mouth, you lousy troll.

I like him even more now. He's a player. Best receiver in this draft, including Crabtree.

When he gets to 20 catches on the season we can start to talk about him. Or were you impressed with the garbage time TD from David Carr against the Special teams players yesterday?

Or a lot better. One of the two.

What are you basing this on?

Yeah, cause that was the only td catch he's had all season. Other than that, he's done nothing. He's only fifth in receiving yardage, first in receiving yards per game (remember, he missed two games), third in yards per catch (his 19.6 is behind a guy that has one catch for 23 yards and the second place guy is 19.7), and he's tied for the most touchdowns. If we can't talk about him in the convesation of best rookies, we can't talk about anyone.

Nicks has
two less games
one less reception
42 more yards
one more touchdown
is averaging five yards more per catch
is averaging 20 more yards per game

I have no clue what brings me to my opinion.

He has 12 catches in 6 games. Mike Vrabel catches TD passes too.

Maybe you can do a breakdown of every catch he has made since there are only 12 of them. Including that garbage time TD yesterday against the back ups.

He missed two games. He has 12 in four games. Only one less than Maclin has in five. And he has more touchdowns than Maclin. What does Vrabel have to do with this? We are talking about rookie wide receivers. You are the one that asked what do I base it on. What would make you say that he's not better than Maclin? You have brought up his garbage touchdown. Ok, take that away and he's still got as many as Maclin in less games. He's also got more yards. You act like I'm comparing him to Randy Moss or Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald. What part of rookie wide receivers was lost on you?

This means absolutely nothing at this point in their careers. absolutely nothing. there are a million different factors involved.

1987 rookie wide receivers:

Ricky Nattiel - 630 yards
Frankie Neal - 420 yards
Ron Morris - 379 yards
Lonzell Hill - 322 yards
Cris Carter - 84 yards

Was pretty obvious then which one was on their way to the Hall of Fame.

I'm not saying that the numbers mean he's better. I thought he was much better in college and coming into the NFL. The only reason I used the numbers was for Cannon since he asked what I based it on. If I had just said my opinion, he would have wanted more. So I gave him numbers that at least to this point in time, back me up a little.

What does Vrabel have to do with this? He has a lot of TD catches. That is proof that TD catches arent the greatest way to measure a receiver.

We are talking about 4 games worth of action, mostly against dreadful pass defenses. How can you say that Nicks is better than anyone based on 4 games, all blowouts? Not to mention it isnt as though he has had a 11 catch, 180 yard game to point to. Also it is kind of tough to measure Crabtree so far isnt it?
And why is he better than Percy Harvin?

Cannon Shell 10-19-2009 06:17 PM

And in post #3 of this thread you said that Nicks was the best player in the draft.

Bigsmc 10-19-2009 06:27 PM

None of them can carry Sammy Stroughter's jock.
