i have no idea. i dated someone that showed arabian's here in socal years ago and she always felt connections were almost as important as the quality of the horse.

i'm always suspicious of a "sport" that requires supposed independent judging. i like finish lines.

bout the same i'd say.

It would serve you right for being part of the overall problem...breeding sh*t to sh*t and hoping it turns into gold.

having said that, be sure to let us know what his name is so we can look for him at the world eq games in a couple of years...you might not have heard of it because it's being held in KENTUCKY.

oh, SNAP!!!!!!!!!!!! :tro: Fine work, ma'am.

VERY much so. I feel the same way about judging vs. finish lines.

In the horseshow world TB's are a dime a dozen. They used to dominate but the Warmblood breeds own it now. Since horses coming off the track can be had cheap, they often end up in "backyard" barns with families looking to have a horse on the cheap. As such they get poor training and usually scare the crap out of their 14yo girl owner within 6 months. They then end up being given away to an even worse place. I know this because for years I rode just this kind of horse. He was lovely, well bred and messed up. He'd attack you if you weren't paying attention and was very erratic. He'd been abused by a "breaker" after going to a kid who's parents were not willing to spend $3k on a well broke quarter horse. They saved $2k and got Grey off the track.

I'm not sure where to post this, but this mess seems as good a place as any.

Did anybody see that Tony Stewart donated $20k to an Indiana horse rescue organization called Friends of Ferdinand to save a bunch of horses from slaughter? Who doesn't love NASCAR?

Dr. Watson 11-24-2008 03:51 PM

Geesh, not another sickly inbred juice freak from Ky . These thoroughbreds have been so juiced up for decades I don't think anyone with 1/2 a brain can really believe those Ky pedigrees amount to a hill of beans .

You must not have seen the pics of my big hunk of horse . Or you need your eyes checked . He has all the tools for the race track, or show . That's why he was never in a sales ring . Not any one deserves him . He can only go to the right stable .
