I prefer this theory as well.

I don't know if he is the best handicapper out there, but no handicapper has contributed more to the sport than him. His books are the only must reads in the business, although I like to read all of them. I bet he has brought more people into the sport than anyone out there.

He was an innovator, which separates him from the pack.

Beyer quote from page 6 of Saturday's BC DRF:
