No shot for Kip.

Not sure about the Vase yet BUT I think Jackpot Delight will be in the mix. God i hope so!

Nice horse...

Absolutely, they all can win. Perhaps I am a little more interested in Armada due to the draw and J. Size. He'll have him ready to win if he's good enough and at the end of last season Armada finally broke through for his 1st stks. But yes they can all win, I just like Armada's upside. I'll back him if the price is there.

With respect to Nat (good girl), I'm thinking Egyptian Ra / Good Ba Ba / Armada. *

A HK 1,2,3.:tro:

* Subject to change. :D

This might be good, I think we are batting 0% when we agree. OK You go with Egyptian Ra and I'll go with Armada...;)

BTW I am going to take a good long look in my homework to see if it is wise go against Viva Pataca, the Stoute horse intrigues me a little.

Subject to a good final look, I'm going to be very very strong on Eagle Mountain in the Cup (with a saver on Lush!)

I really do like Green Birdie in the Sprint. He is drawn well and will be in a perfect possy as they turn for home. Apache Cat though, could just be way too good for them all.

Pressing isnt too well drawn for the mile, but if they go quick up front, he'll be a live threat. Ba Ba will defo be there and he might only find him too good.

The Vase is a real tricky race as there is zero pace and someone could just steal this. They will turn this into a sprint and there are plenty of "slow" horses here.. Buccellati has a turn of foot and could be the one to be on!!

Scurlogue Champ 12-12-2008 04:49 PM

Anyone know a place online to watch the Hong Kong races?

Since wagering isn't offered, I can't find anywhere.

Of course not... it's very unfair that TVG, etc., NEVER show HK.

You can listen here...

http://www.hkjc.com/english/press/live.asp

... and the replays are up right after each race.

Sucks, huh?

Good luck with Green Birdie! :)

Like him but I'd take Enthused over him to place (behind Apache).

Wondering how good Myth Flight will be here. Marchand D'Or is like Viva pataca in that I always go against him (and they both win).

Along with Bullish Luck, Linngari bows out tomorrow... love them both but I agree with you... Eagle Mountain, Lush Lashes, Viva Pataca in some kinda order. Hawkes Bay and Sight Winner are nice horses. I'm just happy to watch that one and not try to figure it out. :D

Here's hoping they scratch Jackpot Delight... don't need another Absolute Champion. :(

Egyptian Ra WILL do well... hope you include him.

brockguy 12-13-2008 04:51 AM

I set up an account with an Australian bookie and am just amazed at the prices on offer. I can also bet into the HK pools from there as none of the Irish bookies will let you do that. I just got Pressing at 20-1 and Eagle Mountain at 4-1! Unbelievable odds compared to what I was offered in Ireland.

CSC 12-13-2008 08:20 AM

With Dr. Dino stuck outside in the 12 post, a very interesting horse for the HK Vase could be the Japanese import Jaguar Mail, he's lightly raced but he's been trading decisions with the Japan Cup winner Screen Hero in his last 2. This race in my opinion is not too deep other than Dino, and with him being hung out outside he may not get his best run tonite.

my miss storm cat 12-13-2008 11:04 AM

Good luck everyone.

You know, there's a website in the UAE that showed it one year... I'll have to try to find it, just to see...

Jackpot Delight hasn't been scratched.....

Yet.

Rest of the card...

R1... it's all about Down Town, Pocket Money and Sunny King.

R2...don't know but Finn McCool sure looked good on his debut.

R6...Plan B / Champion Lad.

Please find that streaming video!!! I really want to watch.

NoChanceToDance 12-13-2008 07:52 PM

Can anyone tell me what time the races are (Melbourne time, please)

CSC 12-13-2008 08:29 PM

My Picks thus far:

The Hong Kong Vase:

Jaguar Mail - A bit of a risky pick but he should go off at decent odds, question mark is why he didn't go in the Japan Cup? However his form says he is a horse with some quality given that he was a 1st & 2nd against Screen Hero in his last 2. In a race where Dr. Dino who has drawn gate 12 is the only proven mulitiple grade 1 winner in it. I'll take a shot with the Japanese shipper who looks like he should get a good run from gate 2.

The Mile:

I like Armada, liked him last year and this may be his year. His last was a useful prep at 6f so I'll look past that effort. Didn't disgrace himself in Japan and now runs at home. Size and Whyte are dynamite when they team up together.

Scurlogue Champ 12-13-2008 09:19 PM

My picks are...

Douro Valley each way in the Vase
Apache Cat should roll in the Sprint
Natagora each way in the Mile
Balius in the big one

So yeah, it's on ATR if you're a paid member (which I'm not).

Supposedly it's on Dubai Sports but I can't figure this out (not the same UAE site as before).

As usual, I'm just gonna listen on HKJC and watch the replay. Sucks! I will never understand why they don't show it here!
