horse continues to get easy leads, i dont think he's very good at all... da tara is better.

Da'Tara didn't get an easy lead? Delosvientos is much better at the irrelevant (maybe not with the BC Marathon now) distance of 12 furlongs.

they both got easy leads, and they are both ok horses at best, just like almost every horse in the USA, except maybe a small number of horses... i can name maybe 5-10 horses max, who would be considered in a good to great catogory....everyone else is bad-ok at best.

There are no horses in the great category right now. Curlin's the closest I guess. . .

i break things into 3 categorys

horrible....
ok/decent
good... with potential to be great

zenyatta
heatseeker
curlin
thats really all i can think of right now, and heatseeker is kind of a stretch, because putting him in means you almost have to use tiago, who beat him on normal dirt.

I took a look at the times for Friday's card and you don't have to be a figure maker to see the track was much deeper that day, I orginally thought the same thing as you did however with so few races run at that distance as Drugs mentioned it is an educated best guess.

Vitruvious was the most disappointing to me.
I knew j jerkens would have a big day, I just decided to back up the truck on the wrong one. 2-3 isnt bad though.

oh yeah, and anything trained by Pletcher stunk.

The Pletcher story is an interesting one. I wonder what his record was on Belmont Day for the other years in this decade. Going into Saturday's card he was barely averaging one starter per day at Belmont. One thing is clear, unless he has a strong group of 2YOs this year, he is weak in pretty much all divisions.

On a day like Saturday it is easy to be disappointed in many ways. You put more than the average time in for the big day, and probably uncover a few more things than you would on a normal day.

There were quite a few disappointments for me...

DOC running on for second was one. There were rumors floating around the stable area that he wasn't right (fever). Hearing it from more than one person made me toss him.

The Delaware horse running in the NY Bred race, Revealer, at 20-1 ran like a 20-1 should, but I had thought I had discovered oil when he never took money. Obviously I did not.

Barclay's horse in the Stephens, Groomedforvictory, was also disappointing as his last race was a nice watch, exploding late like that to run down the leader after having a bad journey. I didn't think Barclay would throw him to the wolves like that if the horse wasn't up to it. It's not his style. In the end it didn't matter as J Be K freaked and wasn't being beaten by anyone. I guess that makes Harlem Rocker legit again after his Polyflop.

But for me it the MOST disappointing was Stalingrad. He really seemed like an improving horse that was taking his game up a notch. His prior effort was a real nice one in my eyes. I guess it makes sense that a Glitterman doesn't want 10f. I had a lot of things going on with him and watching him sit the trip he did the whole way around, and have nothing left for the drive was very disappointing.

Just another day at Belmont.

most of your disapointments are horses with long odd's, who really were not expected to win, i dont see how you can possibly call stalingrad a disapointment, i thought he'd run better then he did, but it was a huge step up in class, and now they need to drop him to wherever it is that he fits
