I'm sure most of us racing fans have some recording going, just in case we see the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years....

If not, I'd recommend it.

Kent just said he was going to "clear the mechanism," ala the quote in "Bull Durham."

I thought the primary "clear the mechanism" was Kevin Costner, in "For Love of the Game?"

(the latter by the way, was too easily panned by the critics, and a nice baseball movie/love story if one is so inclined)

That kid is 9?

Nicer rendition of New York, New York than I expected.....

Kudos.

Agreed. Moreover, the Belmont and other big race TV days are bid by ESPN, ABC etc. They will bring all of the resources allowed by budget and they will use all resources. Most tracks can only afford the basic pan shots, talent cams, gate shots, a ground level shot here and there and of course the tower shots that are usually used for steward looks and to find horses on those foggy days. If race tracks had larger TV budgets I'm sure we would see more "artsy" cuts and angles.

The Breeders Cup once had those side by side pan shots that many didn't like, but I didn't mind it. I'm all for new technology if it gives fans something new to look at. Ie. Trackus...ect...

I liked it, but as I said earlier, what they need to do is what they do for those college football games, where instead of changing channels, they need to have one channel that has FOUR screens on it, with the different views, and then another channel that has all the commentary and the race from the pan view
