"Ron Anderson, Gomez's agent, told Santa Anita officials late Saturday afternoon that Gomez lost several teeth, suffered a gash on his left knee and had a swollen hand. The jockey was undergoing precautionary X-rays, Anderson told track officials."

Indyanne fractured one sesamoid on the left front and did not suffer seveer support system damage ...

Though they did not say, it seemed the fracture was closed, and the prognosis is 65/35 to have a successful recovery and career as a broodmare ...

She will have surgery in the next few days ...

Tough opening weekend...:(
Thanks for the hopeful update on Indyanne, Prudery.
Wishing for the best.

Any info on Back at You, just says vanned off and responsible for his own trouble?

they said the horse got up own his own, and walked off (according to announcer)

the horse jumped the rail right before he was headed by the winner coming down the stretch, surprisingly only a 1 horse spill

He seemed to veer off into the rail and panic ... But it was cause for concern that he was down a while ...

Turns out he was tranqued to get Gomez out from under him safely ,,,

Once the stuff wore off, it was said he trotted into the van with superficial cuts ... No further news ...

and Silver Nat as well.

This is so unusual at the Fairgrounds, obviously we have a few tragedies every year but this many in such a short time is highly unusual, coupled with the quarantine it's like a dark cloud is hanging over Gentilly.....:(

Dimestore Dolly after winning the 6th today at Tampa, something went wrong. Don't think I've ever seen a horse run on three legs like that. Hope she's OK.

I read elsewhere she fractured a shoulder. This leaves little hope, sadly .

I was OTB in Port Allen just in time to see that debacle at PENN.....not what I wanted to see.....I can say that there really wasnt a big delay on the track afterwards so that may have boded well or as well as could be under the circumstances.

Sh*t, that really sucks... what a lousy day... Go Between, Indyanne, Smoocher. Either all of my favorite horses are dying or I have too many favorites

Don't anyone tell me if Nopie dies, he just got shipped from the Sherman barn at GGF to Turf Paradise... he was my favorite horse in Steve's barn (sshhhh, don't tell anyone but I liked Nopie better than my own horse  ). Nopie was like a big puppy dog, he loves being scratched and would look longingly at you when you walked away from his stall...he's the only horse I ever saw that looked at the camera in the winners circle photos... I love that about him :{>:
