For some reason, girls loving going into the area. I was almost coaxed into going with these girls one night until my friend that knows Chicago really well told me what I was getting myself into.

Let me note one caution that I can care less about ones sexual preference, I just would rather not be in that environment, being looked at like a piece of meat

Scav, since I'm sort of our default resident expert on this area of Chicago, let me reassure you --

You may have some things to worry about while you're down there, but you being looked at like a piece of meat by the guys who go out down there is definitely not one of them.

You specifically.

Random straight guys have the potential to do just fine down there, in the sense that if they play their cards right they can drink for free all night without even having to pretend to care about the person buying the booze.

Apparently getting dissed by women is a given....

maybe the whole point of the cashless system is for tax purposes. They either want to help you prove your losses to the gubment or... tax you on every dime you win. That's it a governemnt plot to defeat gambling :o

Maybe they have less to maintain with paperless. No one has to fill the machines with paper.

a huge plus would be the ability to cancel your bet. The Auto-tote machines now allow you to cancel your bet without going to a teller. Unless it is some monster bet that was made to screw with the pools.

I almost never cancel a bet -
but lets say they are loadin the gate and there is a late scratch of some speed horse that changes the complexion of the race or some other situation that causes you to cancel. If the cashless system doesn't allow for that..

With the NYRA ones you can log out, go back to your seat, decide you want to change your bet, go back to the machine, swipe your card and select the bet and cancel it. Can't guarantee it will be the same at Arlington but I imagine it will be.

Doing my best to prevent the thread from getting moved to the Mortuary.

Glad this thread is dying, I wouldn't want the woman of DT to start to question my sexual preferences.
