Midnight Lute is highly unlikely to ever run again.

Makes sense, at least to me. I haven't heard anything, and I haven't asked. However, when the storyline goes something like "backing off" or "waiting until later" or "a big later in the year campaign" -- most often it means "we are in trouble", LOL.

This horse had issues from the get-go from what I gather.

I wasn't a fan until the BC Sprint.. I quickly became a believer.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I saw him at the Spa, and before that, I just wasn't sure what direction they were going to go in. As soon as it became apparent that they were going to the BC Sprint, I immediately got worried (I had a strong rooting interest in the Sprint).

Regardless -- doesn't matter. I know the race is completely different on a fast track, but the way it looked, what he did on that day -- it didn't look like anyone was beating him, so yeah, I hear you.

It helped that I was standing about 15 feet from the horse as he came barrelling down the stretch. It pays to know Hollywood..
