In 10-15 years I predict that if a jock shows talent as a bug he will immediately develop a leg injury (or a condition that could lead to a leg injury) and will retire to stud.

Jul Lep , no doubt. Will be the next Jerry Baily

Several not mentioned...Jose Lezcano and someone who has a chance to be better than all is Jermaine Bridgmohan.

I would predict that JV is retired within 5 years
Coa is one more suspension from the NY stewards from heading back to Venezuela to head up the 'secret police' for Senor Chavez (and I dont mean Jorge)

I believe Centeno is already in his late 30's
JV Bridgemohan = the JD Drew of jockeys

10-15 years out? I'd don't know if either will still be around, at the very top level anyway.

Agreed. Hard to believe people are mentioning Jose Lezcano with a guy like JL out there. Doesn't he need to atleast try a big track first or is Tampa now up there with Churchill. :)

Javier Castellano hasn't even garnered a mention. He's only 30 years old as far as I know so he should be around for a while more.

Both Coa and Velasquez are 35. There are more than one examples of a guy being on top at 45.

I'm with you on Coa. How long did Angel C ride? Still trains and ex rides.
Now, if Chantal S would just come back and show the "good stuff" she learned outside of NY. (jk):D

I think it's a tough call.James Graham at Arlington is an excellent rider but doesen't get the publicity as the others,as well as a guy like Jeremy Rose. But as i've stated in the past and seeing guys like Baeza,Jorge Velasquez, and Angel Cordero i've never seen anyone ride and get a horse to relax as well like Julie Krone. She's my pick.

He's a 4th grader it Peru right now...if I could think of his name, I'd tell you. But that's the guy.

Dominguez and Castellano are both around 30 years old so that's why I didn't include them . . .

P Val, by then he should be done partying

Rosie Napravnik? Been hearing a lot about her off and on. Haven't seen her ride much. Julie Krone can't be the ONLY female rider ever born who can make it at the top level.

Rosie was in a bad spill Friday at Colonial. It looked bad but she only had a broken wrist. This poor girl had a couple of nasty spill in the last 18 months. She was doing well at Del Park with around 30 wins and 5th in the standings. She is do for a lot of better luck

I tend to agree that the leading jockey in 10 or 15 years has yet to ride in his or her first race.
