You are a spectator and a participating bettor...it is the combination of the two that makes horseracing so great...but when your father first brought you to the track you were less of a bettor and perhaps more of a spectator...my Grandmother use to bring me to Saratoga for breakfast during the morning works...I was a spectator before I was a wager making participant.

And there ain't nothing wrong with that at all
My point is that the more spectators that there are, the more bettors there will be...so to Mr Simon's point that the sport needs more bettor's...the way to get more bettors is to get more spectators first and expose them to those already infected with the fever...:D

If I had the cashflow to lose, I'd bet more. Until then... only when I feel very strongly about something OR when I'm chatting with GPK late at night and we get a wild hair to play Mountaineer and DeShawn! Haha! :D

Sometimes when I'm at a bar and races come on, or a replay show, I try to get everyone involved. Everyone pick a number or we can play odds vs evens, pay double for an exacta, triple for a triple, all odds or evens. They get involved, but only for the time it's on. Boy, I must be desperate. But hey, I'm trying to do my part!
