Wonder how this will stack up versus last weekend's Blue Grass???

AeWingnut 04-21-2007 04:31 PM

I thougt the exacta was a little short
someone knew it was going to happen

I've hit better payoffs with shorter odds is all I'm saying

wow

the only horse to hit the board for me was #1

sigh

Storm in May's stable mate, Delightful Kiss, fourth in the race, is also on the flight and will be pointed to a stakes race Derby week in Louisville. Bill Kaplan trains the pair.

Officer Rocket is out and I hope Sedgefield doesn't go, but it still is up in the air for Chelokee

When did Bill Kaplan start training Delightful Kiss? Unless there's some news Pete Anderson trains Delightful Kiss. They may have confused Kiss with Kaplan's Wildandcrazyguy as Storm in May's stablemate.

Belgravia, Soaring By and Forty Grams were crippled. It was ugly to watch.

The 7 was the only for me...3/2/8 were my top three, they finished bottom three :(

The jocks have finally figured out that they CAN set slow fractions and still win IF they have a good enough horse. Teuflesburg wasn't good enough.

Those fractions weren't slow. They were square and honest. He ran them off their feet.

I think the way the jocks rode that race last week (Blue Grass) was the main reason it was run so slow. Nobody wanted to run on the front end because the way the track was playing against "speed". Run like a turf race, the main players didn't want to get "killed" in that prep. That's why I think Great Hunter can bounce back with a good effort in two weeks. I'm not taking anything away from Dominican either and as usual; Street Sense ran his "A" race. I'm giving last week's Blue Grass...a pass :) .

Yeah it's the warmer weather. Still it's almost impossible to play pick 3's and 4's at that track unless you're on PG's level.

While watching, and ripping up most of my tickets, I thought that the track had been "tampered" with. Although I don't follow Keeneland as closely as some here, it definitely seemed to play differently today. Which only makes a difficult task borderline impossible:mad:

While I don't think this field was particular strong, what this shows is how strong the 3 year old races were down at the Fairgrounds. Friggin Notional just HAD to get hurt, this would have only strengthen his case.

Cannon Shell 04-21-2007 06:06 PM

I think I'm Derbyed out already

Yep, I am looking forward to betting Showing Up though on Derby day, that should be easy money

Buffymommy 04-21-2007 06:08 PM

I likie likie Slew's Tizzy! :)

I had the winner, but the tri I picked fell through. Oh well.

Honestly, I don't know if they should run him in the derby. But he does look like a big sturdy horse, but am unsure of only two weeks off.
