And good luck with the show and the contest!

not to step on Andy's toes but when I looked at the DRF online this morning they have an advertisement for the show...says coming friday morning...so it would appear that it will be available to DRF plus members....at least that is how I read it.

I hope so Pais, he said he would find out on Thursday. It would be a shame to limit the show only to YouBet customers.

I have Friday afternoon off and plan on heading to my favorite racebook at Mohegan Sun to play Keeneland.

Any early meet biases I should keep an eye on? And yes, I realize it's opening day but I've never followed Keeneland as closely as some of the others.

Best of luck to all!

I've looked at the Funny Cide race and it looks like a pretty weak field. The average beyer seems to be in the high 90s range. FC has been running 93s and 94s, so he definitely belongs here. I predict FC might run 3rd. He won't be far off if he loses.

Weak field? We must have different pps for tomorrow's 8th at Keeneland. That field is stronger overall than more than a few Graded Stakes I have seen recently, and while Funny Cide is capable of being competitive, that spot is as tough an allowance race as Tagg could have found anywhere for Funny Cide's 7YO debut. Irene's Mon was second by a neck in a Grade 3 to It's No Joke two back before running fifth to Premium Tap in the Grade 1 Clark. Throng had a 101 Beyer in his last dirt race. Rather ran three Beyers in the mid to high 90s before flopping, at 9:2, against Invasor. Spellbinder won a Grade 3 three races back. Student Council was arguably best in The Razorback when second to Magna Graduate in his last race. Better than Bonds was recently placed first when beaten a neck by Hesanoldsalt who was second to Invasor in the Grade 1 Donn in his next start. Angliana placed in a Grade 3 two back and Gin and Sin has been competitive in Graded turf stakes in his last two races.

I wish him the best but this is FAR from a weak field or easy spot.

I guess if you have to be home sick from work...there are worse days than opening day at Keeneland.

If my boss figured that out he'd probably ask for some selections so he could go to the OTB. LOL They let me go home yesterday, so hopefully they don't think I would skip without good reason...my sinuses are making me feel like I got hit with a brick over the head.

Student Council is in great form just now and has proven he likes the Poly at Kee. He'd be my top pick. . Gin and Sin is another who has shown affinity for Poly, ran decently in his comeback on turf; Irene's Mon is 2/2 on Poly, but is coming off a similar layoff. Funny Cide ranks behing all of these for me; he probably needs one off the layoff, against the horses in this one (competitive in G2 and G3 races).

blackthroatedwind 04-06-2007 02:34 PM

The result would have been different if Time Squared switched posts with Include Us.

i did not bet him, but i was impressed they went very slow up front and the horse still rolled, my leading rider prediction is looking good through the first 5 races, lol
