I don't understand what you are arguing with me.

A surface cannot selectively favor a horse because of what price it is. This is idiotic.

LOL. I'm not arguing (or disagreeing with you.) You're correct (of course.) All I did was make a comment on how longshots seem to win there. Call it a stupid angle... whatever. I'll go back to reading this thread without my idiotic commentary.

JJP 03-23-2007 03:57 PM

TP had a 10 day stretch or so back in Jan or Feb where over 60% favorites won so its not a bargain hunters paradise. Some head scratching longshots seem to win there also. I guess I'm making a good case to avoid Turfway; a mixture of heavy chalk and implausible longshots; good types to avoid at most tracks.

Grits 03-23-2007 10:26 PM

I believe one could take a beating while trying to play this entire card tomorrow at Turfway. Tough, really tiring. I wish that I had started this one early.

Aqueduct is not as difficult tomorrow.

Grits 03-23-2007 10:37 PM

Five maiden special, and five stakes, why didn't they leave off the starter allowance and the allowance.

FIVE MSWs--crap shoots--one could lose their shirt in all this.

Rootdog1 03-23-2007 10:37 PM

Agreed Grits. The early Maiden races are impossible. In the stakes, it seems I can only get down to about 4 per race......makes it hard to make $ that way.

I like the 8th race alot. #2 Our Dancing Babe @ 15-1 is improving and will have pace to close into, but like #5 Sealy Hill on top. And I guess you have to use #10 Silverinyourpocket as well but got a feeling she may get weery in the lane.

In any event, it should be a good day to watch racing. Good luck.

Well I'm going to focus most of my play tomorrow on Turfway, as I have had some success there.

With that said, tomorrow is completely different than a normal day.

It may be chaotic and I'm thinking there will be some bombs along the way, hopefully I can snag one.

Its a quirky place. If you've been following all through the winter you will have seen the track playing all over the map, first penalizing speed, then nothing but speed, now a mixture.

Grits 03-23-2007 10:52 PM

I like what you see Root, particularly Sealy Hill, but more than those two, I like Olivine. She's cutting back and it looks like she can be on it, or close, either one.

One has too look at EVERYTHING Helen Pitt's has in.

I cant figure out Olivine....she was 5 lengths clear the entire race last time out, and she wasnt going very fast. Her Maiden breaker was more impressive, and will prob need that style here. Looks like she is flexible in her running style.

I like Helen's horse in the Lanes End, hopefully Kent can have her relax and sit back a bit.

Grits 03-23-2007 11:10 PM

I keep seeing horses on the card that interest me, I look up Kent D. is on 'em. Kent ain't gonna win all these races, ain't gonna happen.

blackthroatedwind 03-23-2007 11:11 PM

Olivine would have to be a completely different horse on polytrack to be competitive....because her dirt form stinks. She took advantage of a huge inside speed bias and a very oddly run race....to say the least.

Rootdog1 03-23-2007 11:13 PM

I'm not sure what you are saying here.....so you like her chances?

Kidding of course. Who do you like? Sealy if she is right will be tough.

I agree about Sealy Hill but she just looks way too obvious to me.

Thank you, you know I'll listen to your points. You know the Inner's speed bias, I know. So are you going with Helen Pitts horse in this one too? You don't have to say, I'm sure you've been working on this stuff long enough.

Discussed on the Panty Raid thread the lack of works for Sealy....I am sure she is "working" somewhere. Same J/T combo in the 9th and 10th, and in the 9th Skip Code doesnt have any published works for a month as well.......do you know if this is typical for Mark Casse?

Grits 03-23-2007 11:23 PM

In the Lane's End, Mark Casse and Will Farish,Jr. are back with another one. I had the exacta in that race last year, when Seaside Salute ran second, using him, going on Casse and Farish and poly. So, I may use Approval Rating, haven't looked at replays yet.

Coach Pants 03-23-2007 11:59 PM

If I can get a decent price on Approval Rating i'm going to take it. I wish that spawn of satan didn't have two horses in the race. That corpse of a jackass ruins everything.

LOL

What, you don't like Twilight Meteor and Sedgefield?

JJP 03-24-2007 12:33 AM

A good rule of thumb for Turfway: never take a low price on a horse in a stake there who's unproven on artificial surfaces. That may be obvious but watch these get overbet tomorrow: Weather Warning, Acadia Breeze, Panty Raid, Floral Park, Silverinyourpocket, Olivine, Meritocracy (although Grand Slam offspring seem to love Poly), Reata's Rocket, Sports Town, Bullara, Forefathers, Hard Spun, For You Reppo and New Dimension.
