I'm only taking this year because the turf will not be a bog and there are a few past BC years of SA/OSA turf races to draw information from to form opinions. I will be looking to make my money on the lawn this year. Last year, that was a risky option with the deluges. Too many "what if's".

The ironic thing about this year's BC is that any BIAS will be on the (speed favoring) TURF. Now, ThAT's (long overdue) PROGRESS.

Looks like they're gonna go although I dunno if Frankel's gonna listen to his blacksmith and do a patch or not. I don't exactly know everything about feet but is there a problem with putting a patch on? Is there a reason you wouldn't want to put one on for the Breeders' Cup?

The first race in that is a G1 at 7 furlongs, what a dumb placement that would be. :rolleyes:

It'll play more to turf horses but I don't think it will benefit or hinder horses on the lead or closing. Like the turf the best horse on the surface that gets a good trip will win. Don't count on a lesser horse wiring the field cause it is loose on the lead like they can on dirt. In the end it plays like turf and those cheap horses get run down on turf.

I think Into Mischief already is destined for stud duty next year. I think they signed a deal for him.

I agree with KG. When I'm looking at the BC races with horses coming from real dirt and turf who are trying Pro-Ride for the first time, how does the 'formful' surface at SA help my handicapping? It's a complete roll of the dice to me.

The upcoming results will punch a hole in any foolishness saying good horses run on anything. I cannot wait to see some of these world beaters get smoked exclusively because of the surface.

I like what Reed Baker said. If you had a horse that had won 10 million on the dirt and you entered him in the Breeders Cup Turf, most people would think you are out of your mind. Thats essentially what all of these people shipping into California are doing. You take a shot because the money is so good, but it will be a day of upside down results. Once again the industry has made themselves look foolish, they cannot control themselves. Especially in California

I will standback and watch a day of false champions run on fake dirt. Its a true disgrace and I hope the Euros Sweep the Cushion Card, and I dont doubt they do exactly that
