actually if it causes American troops to be killed and sets back any type of progress, then i hope he dies.

I'm all for the death penalty for killers.

Like he's responsible for the actions of radical Muslims.

That's crazy talk. You are justifying their hatred with this bulls.hit.

Antitrust32 09-07-2010 12:42 PM

almost as ridiculous is the media in this country giving this fool the time of day. he should be ignored and nothing written about it.

I'm only 30 mins from Gville.. I should go egg this church sometime.

our Troops safety is a millions times more important than his supposed message.

Coach Pants 09-07-2010 12:44 PM

Our freedom of speech is more important than the troops.

I'm sick of hearing about the troops. If people really supported the troops then they would be out in the streets protesting ever f.ucking day for them to come home.

It's self-serving horses.hit. Spare me.

He's no different than any member of congress and the president. And they are making way more off the blood of soldiers than he is.

Focus your energy on them instead of some yokel pastor.

Antitrust32 09-07-2010 12:57 PM

I have a lot of energy focused on not being able to stand congress and the president already.

Reading this crap article this morning really pissed me off.

It wouldnt bother me so much if there was absolutely no media coverage and these guys just burned some books in their backyard and nobody reported it. They dont give a fucl< about their "message".. its all about 15 minutes of fame. I live around all these Christian morons "do as I say, not as I do" folks in the bible belt.

It shouldnt be considered freedom of speech if it puts people in harms way.

He's a fucl<ing loser who deserves anything bad that comes his way over this.

SCUDSBROTHER 09-07-2010 03:21 PM

Should get the troops away from this trash, and put them to work keeping this scum out of our own country. You can't easily change people, but you can keep them from getting to where they can do damage. Let Muslims kill Muslims. No innocent parties involved there. If you follow a butcher, you can't be shocked that your fellow worshippers eventually want to cut on you.
Even when the American Muslims (of course, super-tame) are asked about whether Hamas is a terrorist group, they shy away. Shows me they accept terrorism if they think it helps their fellow Muslims. The "religion " was started by someone who believed in terrorizing people into joining his hate group. Can't be shocked that his followers are so reluctant to disagree with the parts of the Quran that encourage terrorism. It's so much easier to deny he meant what he said, and say he's misunderstood. Mo just had a couple bad days.

I find the Koran-burning pastor issue fascinating because it doesn't neatly divide people into their usual ideological camps.

You have people on the right who support him because they vehemently oppose the mosque in NYC specifically and Islam in general. But you have other people on the right who oppose him because Petraeus (and others) say it jeopardizes troop safety.

Then on the left, you have those that oppose him because they see it as just more right-wing, anti-Islam nonsense. But you also have those on the left that support him because they don't particularly enjoy the military telling people when it is okay for people to exercise their rights.

Interesting issue.

GBBob 09-07-2010 07:18 PM

If you can support the right to build the Mosque, I'm not sure how you can oppose his right to burn Quarans. Freedoms are freedoms, whether you believe they are right or not.

Danzig 09-07-2010 07:51 PM

sure, he has a right to do this. i'd rather he burned a bunch of copies of james joyces ulysses, but that's just me.
seriously, i find anyone burning books to be ridiculous-but they have a right to do so-just like those dipshits who protest at servicemens funerals have the right to trample on our flag. it's to cause a reaction, looks like it's working.

It's all Constitution based...as long as certain groups want to interpret it literally despite the fact it was written when no one could imagine what the World would be like now, then they better accept it when it doesn't happen to line up with their beliefs..quid pro quo

Danzig 09-07-2010 08:20 PM

everyone seems to have a problem with some part of the constitution-it's why i'm glad they made it difficult to change. it's not supposed to change on a whim; or because a group finds part of it unpopular when their opponent is supported by it! it's just as important now as it was then to protect everyone's rights, not just some. after all, just about every one of us is a member of a group that has been hassled for one reason or another at some point in history. you don't have to be popular to keep your rights.

Not if David Petraeus and the State Department tell you not to exercise that freedom. In that case....you should get life in prison for burning your own property.

I didnt need Patraeus to say a god damn word to know how this will effect the middle east. I was equally pissed off when CNN and Fox and everyone were reporting in depth about how terrible we were in Iraq taking pictures of prisoners.

Dont report it. Its nobody's business to know. Punish the people responsible & keep it under wraps. There is no reason to give the radical muslims more reasons to hate us. I wrote CNN letting them know they have blood on their hands (and the other media outlets).

miraja2 09-08-2010 08:36 AM

I just don't think it makes sense to give up legal freedoms because some other dangerous people don't like it. In my opinion, any person in this country should be free to burn any inanimate object that they rightfully own. Therefore, I strongly disagree with your earlier suggestion that a prison sentence is a suitable punishment for someone engaging in such an act.

Are you drinking? I'm glad you bumped a post for me that said exactly what I said in the other thread, since I never said they shouldn't or couldn't burn the Koran.

Danzig 09-08-2010 06:22 PM

im not sure that the zealots could be induced to hate us any more than they do....we've invaded countries and are israels biggest ally...just how much worse could this make it?
